2004 DRAGON*CON FANFORCE TABLE NEEDS VOLUNTEERS!

Hello all!

The Hothanta Rebels are once again organizing a FanForce table at Dragon*Con and we need volunteers to help us staff it. We are asking FanForce folks who will be attending the con to take just an hour out of their day(s) to help us out.

Actually, I end up hanging out at the FanForce table quite a bit, even when I'm not scheduled to work, because it seems to be the place toward which FF folks gravitate.

We will be staffing the table from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sat., Sept. 4th and Sunday, Sept. 5th. We are asking for folks to sign up for one-hour slots. If you would like to work more than one hour, please feel free to sign up for as many as you would like.

Two or three people can work the table at the same time, but if you don't mind working alone, please sign up for a time that has not yet been taken so that the table will be staffed at all times (the Dragon*Con staff gets a bit miffed when fan tables are not staffed at all times). Chances are, even if you are the only person scheduled to work, you'll have company, as FF folks tend to be drawn to the table.

Also, I realize that on Saturday, Sept. 4th, that we may not have anyone working the table after 5:00 p.m. due to the FanForce dinner that begins at 5:30 that evening. But, if there is anyone who will not be attending the dinner but who will be at Dragon*Con, you're more than welcome to work the table while the rest of us are at Trader Vic's. Otherwise, the Dragon*Con staff will just have to get miffed at us that evening.

Hi I will be hanging out and will come and man the table when I can during these 2 days. I am going to the dinner on Sat. Possibly Sunday evening. I just have to figure out when my daughter wants to go to the Coke place.Probbably Sat. early afternoon around 2, 3, or 4pm or all of those.

 

Woot! someone actually wants to hang out with me.../weeping.

 

Hi! Mike and I would be glad to help out. We haven't done this before and would rather sit with someone we know. But if you really need us to sit at a different time we will. Can we sit with Jill on Sunday from 1-2pm?

 

You can count me in as interested.

Anybody know where I can find a full itinery for the con? I just want to make sure I can make the events I'm interested in (which are only a handful) and as long as there isn't a conflict, I'll be happy to sit at the table.

 

You know, I'm not sure if there will be four seats available at which for all four of you to sit at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday. There should be three seats, but I'm not sure if there will be a fourth. Of course, folks have been known to sit on the floor at the table just to hang out, so someone can probably do that.

 

I will go to the table after I can review the happenings at DC and volunteer for any available spot. I won't be able to help out too much, but an extra hand can be put to good use, right?

 

My nephew can sit on the floor or just hang out in the dealer room or something. He's 14 and probably would rather do that than sit at the table. He said he would do it but I'm sure he'd rather do something else. Put me down for Sunday.

All I know is that our table will be in the fan table area in the Marriott. I will not know its exact location in the fan table area until the Friday of the con.

We got together yesterday to watch some of the old SNL skits and the first movie, just to make sure we've got our characterization and lines down pat.
