I agree with the Christmas ad rant... Watching Saturday Morning tv... Where's Charlie Brown when you need to explain
commercialism to a 4 year old????

And I hate it being Dark at 5pm... OK, maybe not that early but...

Doesn't that make you turn your heaters on sooner? I mean, the purpose was to save energy... Right?
How does it save energy to have to burn more lights and more heat when it's cold? When in the summer darker sooner
    would make it cooler???

Perhaps the energy companies are really behind the whole thing...

    I'm just sayin....

X-Mas + lots of kids + Toys R Us + dumb parents + spending way too much on said kids (as in $400 and up) = for Grace.

Also...we're STILL not done moving.

Are you grumbling about your title, Ben?

    Here's my gripe today:

It's 50-frickin'-degrees at our office, and I'm wearing short sleeves. Apparently the heater isn't working right in the building. It's either that or because they turn off the heat and air on the weekends. Either way, I can't feel my damned toes and fingers, and I feel like I'm in the drunk tank at 201 Poplar.

One thing that REALLY bugs me is whenever I have to drill into masonry.

First, you can NEVER get the damn drill bit to sit exactly where you want it to go. Chisel a damn hole, drill with a pilot bit, work it with a centre punch. RARELY does it ever start where yo uwant it to start and then if you CAN get it started in the right spot, the slightest damn harder bit in the masonary and it tries to work to one side of it instead of busting through the damn thing.

Second, I have discovered that the bricks used to construct my house are the HARDEST known material on the face of the earth.

Anyone guess what I did all bloody weekend?

Uhhhhhh..... You played Star Wars Electronic Battleship?

I know what you mean about that, JD. I've done the same thing here at the house, and it's a freakin' pain. I broke three drill bits when I was trying to attach a wooden post to my house. I ended up spending $15 on a special drill bit. Two words for you: Hammer Drill. I love mine. It's like the Rolls Royce of drills.

I hate it when you try to tell someone something and they won't bloody listen. After a while you just give up and think to yourself, "Fine. Don't come whining to me later, cause I tried to warn you."

Also, I hate it when coworkers get into it with each other. It's bad enough that we have to work, but to have emotional drama on top of all of it makes the suck increase exponentially.

    "If I had a hammer........drill.......I'd hammer-drill in the morning...."

On my second hammer-drill in sixteen years.

The damn bricks here are some sort of conglomerate that has these ridiculous hard bits in them. The main problem was I was at the top of an extension ladder and couldn't get any leverage to put any real force into it.

I burnt the ends off four damn masonry drill bits on Sunday.

My shoulders are still aching from using the damn drill and my ears are STILL ringing now even though I wore ear-proctors the whole time.

I swear I've drilled into concrete - new AND old - that is softer than my house!

    On your other point....

Just before I got here there was an office romance. The guy left and a few weeks later I arrived.

A week later the lady got back. After some chit-chat with the group she asked what my role would be. I didn't have a clue of the past and just said "Well I think I'm here to replace Rob....."

You know you've put your foot in it when there's a romm full of guys rolling around almost crying with laughter, while there one lady, steam coming out of her ears just staring at you with complete dagger-like looks.

Yeah, starting a new job is like coming in on the middle of a conversation. You don't know what's really going on and why, but you know that you're screwed no matter what.

It wasn't a romance at our office, just two ladies who got snippy with each other. I'm friends with both of them, which makes it even more uncomfortable.

I wish it would just snow already or clear up. This weather is dismal and depressing.

Here's a complaint: It's 15 days until Christmas. How's that for sheer holiday hell?

I don't call them the "helladays" for nothing!

I have mutant nose hair that grows so fast that I could braid it. And I'm starting to find matching errant ear hair. I feel like Seth Brundle in The Fly. I can trim them and they're back in four seconds. It's like my body just wants to be hideous.

And I hate those nose and ear zits. And the zits that are right on the edge of your lip. Those are hell.

My house is cold, one of my tires is thumping, and I have a freaking 13 hour shift tomorrow!! WHY?! Might want to watch the 10 o'clock news tomorrow evening, because I think they may have a story about a seasonal employee at Toys R Us going nuts and causing irreperable bodily harm to hundreds of holiday shoppers. DX

    And I have a cold.

    I'm sorry, Gracie.

    [:D]

My complaint today is that the city is panicking and I have yet to see a single drop of freezing rain. The schools have closed early and it hasn't done a blasted thing. When we were kids, there had to be snow and ice on the ground before they closed the schools. Now it just threatens snow or ice and they shut down.

You're kidding me... I haven't been paying attention.

This holiday season just keeps getting better. They announced layoffs at my company, globally, to the tune of 1500. I think I'm okay, but I'm just tired of all this good news. :(

I saw that in the paper yesterday, Rhonda. It seems like no one is safe from this economy. I'm worried, too, to be honest. I should just go on and lay claim to the street corner I want to work should something happen. [face_worried]

Yep... Armageddon Frozen Death is supposed to be hitting us any moment now.

Try living here. Despite the wretched climate, everything goes to hell in a handbasket at the mere possibility of bad weather!

Rhonda, I see your 1500 unemployed and raise you 30k umemployed! (Woolworths in the UK just went into administration a couple of days ago).
