Haha, I fell for it, yet again.

 

Why wouldn't they ever release these complete scores!? They came out with that Corillion Cut or something like that cd that had a cluster of tracks that were already available on other cds.

 

They'll probably be released eventually, but to be honest, I'd rather have properly mixed and remastered complete scores from the OT before a complete release of the prequels.

 

This thread needs to be destroyed.

I thought we had a separate thread about the TPM Ultimate Edition, but I couldn't find one in the Index. I think we've probably had discussion about it in earlier pages of this thread.

This cd set was presented as a chronological score of the film, and was not presented "as recorded" by John Williams & the LSO. Thus there are many edits that created unhappiness for many film score fans.

 

Aw, damn. I really quite like the UE - I figured the point of it was so that if we wanted to "hear the music from this scene and that", we could do as such with the album. Ah well.

 

Don't feel bad, Joe. There's plenty of people (myself included) who like the UE just fine. I said this a few years ago here: "The UE may not be the Mercedes-Benz of soundtracks like the SEs are, but it still gets the job done."

It's still vastly better than most movie soundtracks released nowadays.

 

With the 10 year anniversary of The Phantom Menace coming up in a year, maybe they'll give us something good in regards to this subject. Until then though, STOP UPPING THIS THREAD AND BREAKING MY E-HEART!!
