Chic, IL Are You Ready For Some Paintball????

Is there one or two people out there who'd want to split a case of paint with me on Sat? It helps bring the price down and I know that I'll probably only use about 1/3 of the case.

 

Blast Camp opens at 8:30 AM. Shouldn't we be shooting for an 8 AM arrival so that we can be ready to go by the time they open?

Dr. Jawa, I can split a full case with you if you want.

 

In a perfect world, when BlastCamp is five miles from everyones house, sure. But you have to remember, some people are leaving their house at 6am or earlier just to get to the meeting place at 7:30.

And also, some people are not insane and don't like getting up early in the morning, even for paintball.

 

Someone needs to step in my shoes and be late for the meeting place....and have all cell phones turned off....and not wake up to the alarm...and be late for paintball.

Man I wish I could go!!

 

And some are really insane and might be leaving even earlier than 6:00.

I have to get up at 4:45 six days a week for swimming in the summer, thus, I am in the insane group.

 

No, I wake up at 2am every morning for work so I PWN YOU ALL!!!

And, yes, I am insane.

 

Now I know how to lure you into a trap on Saturday: coffee beans.

 

Too bad I'm working again, so couldn't respond to your post until now, Jawa. Lilli and I would be looking to split 2000 rounds with a third person.

Well, I was a bit worried, so I checked the weather this morning for Hobart and this is what I found:

On Saturday morning at 9 AM, the temperature will be about 40 degrees, and will rise to 45 degrees in the afternoon. The wind will die down quite a bit--14 mph as opposed to 23 mph today.


To put that in perspective, yesterday I put on what I planned to wear to paintball, which consists of:

A thin Under Armour ColdGear long-sleeve shirt
Sweatpants, followed by track pants
One of those "burgler's hats" that doubles as a gator to protect my neck
Helmet
A pair of socks and running shoes

I went outside, and felt pretty good walking around (except when the wind started blowing really hard). Apparently, I was standing in 34 degree air with winds at about 22 mph, so overall, I think that if the wind is what Weather.com predicted, it should be a good day for paintball. Judging by the past group pictures, I wear a fraction of the clothing that everyone else does, so if I'm comfortable in yesterday's conditions, average Joe with two or three shirts and several layers of pants might even get toasty.

 

Well I picked up a JT Elite Radar so we'll see how that works tomorrow!

 

I got a cooler of water and some chips. Anyone else bringing provisions?

 

Everyone should bring chips. You know, because we never have enough of them at CF events.

 

I'll bring some MT. Dew for peeps and people.

1) Actually play this time - CHECK
2) Shoot BoshTalk with extreme predjudice - CHECK
3) Get shot in the 'nads - CHECK and CHECK

...and that was just the first game.
