Arena Open Call for Banners

Alright, I figure its time we have a thread for what banners we'd like to have in here.

See this thread for guidelines on how to make banners

Banners should be sports-themed (obviously, since this is the Arena) and should include text saying "The Arena" and "Jedi Council Forums"/"theforce.net" (one of the latter two). We would prefer to have stylesheets along with the banners, but if you can only do the banner itself, that's ok.

Colors will be awarded to those who make banners which get uploaded



Here's a current list of ideas for banners (will be updated along the way):

Single sport (single- or multiple-league):
-soccer
-basketball (NCAA/NBA - either combined or separate)
-football (NCAA/NFL - likewise)
-hockey (NHL)
-others welcome as well

Mixed sport:
- a coach/manager-themed banner (perhaps one for college coaches and one for professional coaches?)
- a "great moments in sports" banner.
- a "best of hype" banner? Featuring players and things that were hyped to death and fell flat on their face.
- a few "minor" sports together, such as golf, tennis, swimming, etc.

Any of these would be generic banners, without dates.

Also, when major events are approaching, event banners are also welcome (World Series, Super Bowl, NBA/NHL playoffs, World Cup, Olympics, etc). Along this line of thought, perhaps one for major tennis tournaments and another for the majors in golf)

 

Also, feel free to post ideas in this thread or progress if you're working on a banner and want tips.

 

Can we at least have a banner up that has the ticker? Or put the ticker into this one? Either way works for me.

 

I'll ask Grimby about adding the ticker to our older banners, since we sometimes throw one up

Love the banner! Especially the Inty tribute with the colors.

 

Awesome banner! Though, the color scheme did freak me out. I saw the "Logged in as:" and my name in my old colors, and I thought maybe I was re-promoted against my will!

So, speaking of banners, who's was the fifth "Darth" on the Family Feud question?? I see Vader, Maul, Sidious, Tyranus...

I'm also ashamed to say, I thought it was spelled "Tyrannus" until a few days ago...
