Honestly, the whole 'Ki-Adi and Plo fight Control Ship in Space Battle' dream has been dismissed time and time again. SI always siad that although anything can change in post, there is no 'space' battle in the script, the Droid Control Ship is GROUNDED. I wouldn't blame anyone for not noticing that there would be an aerial battle, but it has been gone over before.

The whole idea of the space battle occurred when we first learnt about the control ship in the Seville Call Sheets.

SI later dismissed it as having being a "ground battle."

It's awesome that it's confirmed. Should be a hell of a scene.

Here's a question that may belong in my "New to Spoilers" thread but while we're talking about the arena battle....

How the hell does Padme fall out of the gunship??

I thought the gunships were pretty well enclosed.

Or am I thinking of the wrong ship?

So in that Select pic of the ship flying through hyperspace, is that a Republic Cruiser on its way to Geonosis?

Bismarck, the select to which you refer is the Interstellar Freighter that Padme and Anakin take to Naboo from Coruscant.
I also wonder how Padme is knocked right out of the ship. Perhaps she is on a different ship to Anakin and OB1, that ship is rocked by a blast, Anakin sees this and wants to go resuce her, but Ob1 prevents him and instructs the pilot to go after Dooku.
I do think there would be more than one rescue craft in the arena picking up the remnants of the Jedi attack squad.

If the ship is grounded then Plo and ki could still be seen in the arena before attacking the ship.

I doubt it since they are surrounded by Confederate Forces.

Anakin, Padme and Obi-Wan are standing at the gunship's bay doors, where stormtroopers are shooting out the doors onto gun emplacements on the ground below. The gunship makes an attack run on one particular gun emplacement, and here it gets hit by a blast from the guns. The gunship lurches from the blast and Padme falls from the open bay doors.

That's how I remember it going, if my memory serves.

Geez this battle is going to be very long, involved, and complicated. Sounds awesome! But, does anyone know how much of the movie it's expected to take up? Probably much more than the Battle of Naboo, I think...

Jedi Chikara's explanation sounds ok I guess. At least it explains why the door is open. She probably should have been sitting further inside though.

Question. How many more Jedi are there on the ship that Anakin and Obi-Wan are rescued on? Is it just Yoda? We know that there's about fifteen Jedi left when the Gunships arrive and some die while boarding the ships. Are there injured Jedi on the Ana / Obi ship and that's why they don't chase Dooku? Or did most of the rescued Jedi board the ship with Padme?

Remember that picture of the Art Of Episode 2 book? The cover has clones fighting droid starfighters that were in the transformed mode (with the wings used as legs). It'll be interesting if it'll be used in the movie.

Another thing, I know I'll get flamed for this, but doesn't the ending seem a little too busy? If Lucas can pull it off with suberb editing- great. But I have a bad feeling about this........
