    (Game originally suggested by RX_Sith)

Each player is dealt two cards and is then offered the opportunity to take more. The hand with the highest total wins as long as it doesn't exceed 21; a hand with a higher total than 21 is said to bust or have too many. Cards 2 through 10 are worth their face value, and face cards (jack, queen, king) are also worth 10. An ace's value is 11 unless this would cause the player to bust, in which case it is worth 1. A hand in which an ace's value is counted as 11 is called a soft hand, because it cannot be busted if the player draws another card.

Each player's goal will be to beat every other player's total by having the highest, unbusted hand. Note that if the player busts he loses, even if other players also busts. If two or more players have the "high" hand then they will both be awarded a round win, but only for half a point instead of a full point.

The deck will be shuffled again for the next round. Cards will be posted. Then the player would decide to hit, stand, or split based on that they have to win against everyone else's hand (or at least tie). The player will reply in the thread to hit, stand, or split their hand. The host would then post one additional card to those that want to either hit or split their hand. Then those players would again post whether they want to hit again, stand, or if they busted. This would continue until all players have either declared that they stand or that they have busted.

    Additional rules concerning Blackjack:

The player's options for playing his or her hand are:

    Hit: Take another card.
    Stand: Take no more cards.
Split: Double your chances and have each card be the first card in a new hand. This option is available only when both cards have the same value (like two twos, threes, etc.), but not for a ten and a jack, or any other card that counts as 10, it has to be the exact same card (two tens, two jacks, etc.)

Games would last for as long as it takes at least one player to reach 5 points.

If one player wins the round, then they will be awarded one full point. For two or more players, one-half point will be awarded. For getting 21, players get two points. If there is more than one person who gets 21, then each will get one point. We will play until a total of 5 points is reached. If two or more players reach the same point total of 5 or above, then they will both get colors.

Here is an example of a typical game:

Player 1 receives a jack and a seven. They decide to stand with a total of 17.
Player 2 receives an Ace and a seven. They decide to stand with a total of 18.
Player 3 receives a five and a two. They hit and receive another 2 for a total of 9. They hit again and receive another five for a total of 14. They hit again and receive a jack for a total of 24. They bust.
Player 4 receives two queens. They split their hand receiving a 10 for one hand and a three for the other. They stand for their queen and 10 for a total of 20. They hit for their hand of a queen and a three and receive a king. This hand busts with a total of 23. But they are the winner for their split hand that has a total of 20.

I'd play, but a quick question:

Since we're playing against each other, wouldn't it make sense for us to see one of the two cards that each player has, like in real blackjack? Part of the strategy of the game is knowing what cards are out there vs. what you have. If everyone's playing blind (each player is only PMd both cards), it severely restricts the strategy of the game, no?

Or am I not understanding the rules right?

Anyway, I'll take a crack at it.

Souderwan - In the last game we got to see everyone's cards the whole time. I'm not entirely sure why they are even PM'd except it is fun to see the cards in the card format instead of numberwise.

That was actually probably me missing something when I edited the rules. Both cards get posted.

    7. Skiara
    8. padawanlissa
    9. souderwan
    10. PrincessLeia
    11. SWBob

And with eleven players, we're going to start!

    The_Loyal_Imperial: 9 of clubs + 2 of clubs = 11
Kyptastic: 4 of hearts + queen of diamonds = 14
    ma_petite: 7 of spades + ace of clubs = 8/18
    Kelia: 2 of diamonds + 9 of diamonds = 11
Rosa: king of hearts + 3 of hearts = 13
    RX_Sith: 10 of clubs + 2 of hears = 12
    Skiara: 2 of spades + 3 of diamonds = 5
    padawanlissa: 10 of diamonds + 9 of spades = 19
Souderwan: 7 of clubs + jack of hearts = 17
    _princess_leia: 6 of diamonds + jack of spades = 16
    SWBob: 8 of diamonds + 8 of hearts = 16

Those are your cards. You can choose to hit or stay (or, in Bob's case, split). There are no penalties for going over 21, but you'll lose the round. You have 24 hours after I post the cards each time to hit or stay. If you don't say anything, you're staying.

I'm going to PM you all, but I'm not going to do it between every round again, so be sure to keep an eye on the thread.

    Good luck!!
