C3 Fan Party - Friday, April 22 - Post Party Discussion

I never had a paypal account prior to this... I just set mine up for this very event. It says I have to wait 2-3 business days for verification. Can I still order tickets now? What should I do?

 

We will have some available at the door if your account is not set up by Wednesday.

I'm rather annoyed with PayPal. I set up my account and transfer the funds. It's out of my bank account for two days and they still don't show it in their database! Come on! We live in an age of instant transactions. I got til noon central time. For some reason I doubt it will happen...

 

I stand corrected! It just went through and I sent payment via pay pal. The force is with me today! I hope so, I got an interview today!!

 

Is there any more update/info on which celebs will join the Fan party?

I know that there has to be many, many others with complaints about this one!

 

Complaints? We raised $7,000 for someone afflicted with Cancer, we met the people who played Rune Hakko, Admiral Motti, David Prowse himself, Steve Sanweet, Rena Owen, I think Ozzel was there, they had free ham, cheese and crackers, and they showed fan films like Revelations all night long. It was a great place to take pics of some of the better fan costumes, and it was especially cool to meet SW fans from all over the world. The Japanese storm troopers and the women dressed up in Kimonos with Imperial logos on them were especially cool.

What's to complain about?

 

I would like to thank everyone who helped out with the party!!!

$7,700 for Kisses for Katie!!!

Tons of actors, authors, artists, Lucasfilm reps and executives came to the party and hung out almost all night!!!

My only complaint is that the we couldn't get more people in there so that we could raise more money for Katie!!!

Thanks to all who came up to me and Incom over the weekend to thank us and tell us what a great time they had.

More importantly, thanks to all who came and helped us make the single largest donation to Kisses for Katie ever!!!

 

I enjoyed it. This was the one time I had to really meet everyone from the JC and it was fantastic. Also, there was dinner included in that cost, we raised money for a very good cause, and there were some celebreties who were there just to hang out with the fans which was great.


question: how much kisses for katie revenue was generated through other fund raising efforts like wristband sales?

 

Does that $7,700 include the money from the silent auction?

 

No, that is only counting the funds raised from ticket sales!!!

 

I would like to thank everyone who came and made this party one to remember. The only complaint I have heard of was that there was not enoght chairs and tables for everyone. The great thing is that we did raise $7,700 for Katie Johnson and that was WAY more than we expected. We were shooting for $2,000 (1000 tickets X $2.00) but we ending up selling only 900 presell and sold another 100 at the door at $30.00 each. The Hyatt also shaved a little of the price of the hall and food so that gave us more money for Katie. I know there was alot of VIPs there here are the ones I saw.

I got to hang out with Nalini Krishan(Baris Offee) for a little while too.
Bought her some drinks and tried to trick her into thinking Nabooty Call was really Ewan.
Good fun.

That was you, Eeth? LOL! Yeah, that was pretty funny. Friday was a blast. And thanks again Sebulba for pulling yourself away to help us with the ticket situation.

Yeah that was me.
I also helped check wristbands at the entrance with the hotel security.
I had to rip mine off at one point and give it to Rena Owen when they wouldn't let her in.

 

This party was one of the highlights for me. Well done everyone!! Special thanks to the organizers, you did a brilliant job!

And Sebulba, I managed to tell the artists about the party that day, as many of them didn't know about it Was so psyched to see some of them come by!

 

Bah, I not at all mad, but when I heard they were putting together their own private site to organize for C3 I passed along an open invitation for all of them to come be on the VIP list...that must of either not gotten passed along or it was too early on in the game with, admittedly, no follow up on my part.

I'm so glad they came though, because I went total fanboy on them.
