C3 Fan Party - Friday, April 22 - Post Party Discussion

Thanks to Jamesvader for the ticket, I had an AWESOME time at the FF party...

I still can't get over the idea we had a party like that AND raised $7700...so cool.

The only thing was the fanfilms. I would have paid attention to them if I had been able to hear the dialog.

 

Well, we didn't want it to be a fan film viewing party, that was just something for the background. Probably could have turned it up a little, but I'm sure the crowd would talk louder to compensate or leave to talk somewhere else, which wouldn't have been any good.

 

Well, Im glad you guy raised a lot of cash! My time wasn't as good as most. The guy I went to the party with was on cruthes and as someone mentioned there weren't enough chairs. We ended up sitting on the floor. Ever tried sitting on the floor when you can't bend your leg? Not fun for either of us. I did get a great pic of me laying on the floor drinking my beer though!

 

Gah, no one offered to give your friend a chair?!! Sorry I didn't see you in there, I most assuredly would have kicked someone out of a seat for you.

If we get a chance to do this again, that will be one of the things that will get addressed (chairs).

 

There did seem to be not enough chairs, but that didn't bother me. I didn't hang around long enough to see the celebrities that came (I only saw who I think was the actor that played Wes Janson briefly by himself), but I still had a blast meeting other fans. The party was one of my favorite parts of the con and I think it's great that so much money was raised for Katie.

 

I got there late, but got to meet some folks from the Japanese Garison. Had fun talking in Japanese with them. It had been a while...

 

That party was off the hook and I had a great time hanging with everyone. I didn't expect many of the stars to show up. It was so awsome to get drunk with them to. I like to thank Cynthia Cummens for buying me a pop to help me out with Crown Royal I got from my room. The best pic I took that night was of David Prowse with Darth Vader and the Guards.

 

This was a great party all the way around. Raising money, showing fan films, serving cheese, crackers and ham at no additional cost, getting to see a lot of huge SW greats in person. It was just a great way to end Friday night.

I got on the microphone and made an official announcement. I even threw the horns and said metal. That alone should've brought the masses to the photo shoot.

I paid to go to this party but never went in the end my hotel was near the airport so I was taking bus back and forth to the hotel everyday of the convention,the day I arrived I went downtown to pick my badge up I went by taxi which there and back he over charged me so if I stayed and went to the party I did not really have anyway of getting back to the hotel after the party plus the fact it was pouring down with rain. Well I should say really it was my first convention so I will know for next time where to stay if there is a c4 in indy in 2007 then that will soon come round again for registration time

 

I was bummed I didnt get to hang out and down a few with KOB. I did see him, at least.

Eeth-my-Koth, which one were you? We pretty much hung out with Nalini and her beau the whole evening, so the only moving about I did was to buy more alcohol. I got pretty toasty, so thats a sign of an excellent party! Oh, yes, I have to say hello to one of our new buds from Indy! Hey, Staplehead! Um, I mean, Jay! (Its Zuckuss1138, isnt it?)

The guy I came down with got all tired after the party, and we knew we were going to try and get up at 5 to see Lucas. Thank god you night birds took photos, I can almost imagine being there.

 

I was right up front at the podium with my video camera. I have some AMAZING footage from this party that will be put into my highlights video. I cried after viewing the way I've started editing together the KJ piece. It's so beautiful. The whole thing is set to Princess Leia's theme.

 

The party was definitely a blast, I got to hang with a lot of JCers there, which was a lot of fun even though I was incapacitated for most of the time, due to the fact I was stupid enough to wear those three inch heel boots...all...day...

But the only real disapointment for me was I had been really really looking forward to a chance to meet Michael Stackpole, and Zahn of course though I didn't find out until after the party that he was even there. But try as I might, no one knew where the guys were, and I got kind of scowled at for asking. I guess maybe I looked like someone who was going to mod them or something, but I honestly wasn't going to. I have a great deal of respect for authors in general and the Star wars authors in particular and I would have just liked a few minutes to meet the guys behind the books that have been so influential in my fandom. But I didn't know if it was even appriopriate of me to be asking after the celebrites, like they were supposed to kind of be there under cover or something. I don't know, that was just the impression I got.

But the party was still a great time, and I hope you guys do another one next time.

 

Connemara, you looked tired and exhausted when I was there and that costume couldn't have been comfortable. Still, meeting the JCERS that night and waiting in line with -_-_-_-_-, Fate_Naberie, and The_2nd_Quest all night long was the best part of C3 for me.

Actually I think we sold about 50 wristbands For Katie at our table (just outside the room).

So the actual amount will have been about 7900$ ^_^

It was nice talking to a lot of you there.

Hopefully, with the producer's help, we'll see you next time.

 

I had a great time guys! Just being able to see Seb, Eethy, Nabooty all at one time was worth admission, also meeting a few others like Darth Perfidious, WhoJedi and Grimby the Hutt along the way was cool.

Helping Katie...nothing needs to be said here...what a cutie she was, dropped a tear or two during her message. over $7k nice work.

I liked the fan films playing in the background, better than music!

It seems like everyone showed up at one point or another, even "Steve" from New Zealand.

I think smaller tables would be good, a few more people will be able to sit and be comfy if they so choose and will allow for more space.

Looking forward to all again in 2007.
