Did Yoda retain his lightsabre after his battle with Sidious?

Actually Yoda's other saber was pink, not purple.

 

if he had lost his saber, he would have to had gotten all the parts then go to Daggabah. At the same time Daggabah was of the dark force like nature...maybe he found one, but I believe he had one by then

 

He coulda had parts aboard his little pod. I do believe he had a saber stashed away on Dagobah. I havent even read the Tales story concerning that, but even if he didnt use it, I think he would have a saber. Better to have it and not need it then to need it and not have it.

What do you think he used to make his crockery?

After rescuing him, maybe Senator Organa stopped off at a Froglings'R'Us and bought Yoda a new robe and cane.

 

I think Yoda lost his lightsaber, He had to quickly escape.

 

There were plenty of lightsabers laying around in the Temple for Yoda and Obi-Wan to get spare parts. Perhaps Yoda's new saber is inside his cane, Zatoichi-style.
(If I remember right, that was an idea for Yoda's lightsaber for AOTC.)

 

There's nothing to suggest he does. If he has one on Dagobah it's probably because he made another one. God knows he had the time to.

 

There's no reason for either Obi-wan or Yoda to take any of the Lightsabers out of the Temple, especially if they didn't use them in their battles. Nope, it seems that Yoda lost his if you just go by the film itself. It would've been too risky to go back for another at the Temple. There's no proof that Yoda built another in the films. We do know in the novelization that he kept his saber, but then he also keeps his robe too.

 

In the EU, I heard he has eight sabers! And they're all double bladed like Darth Maul. That's teh cool!

 

Just why would Yoda even build a new lightsaber if he is in exile and has nothing to look forward to until his death?

 

He must have had a spare in the POD.....yeah I can say yes to that!

 

Actually if you go by the film ROTS, you can see Yoda's saber when he falls. it's in the far bottom right corner of the screen. go back and look, you will see it. so, it is reasonable to assume that before he escapes he takes it with him. however it is not a pink, nor purple saber. it is his own green one. that other stuff doesn't, doesn't count.

 

That is Yoda's comlink, not his saber.

 

you're not looking in the right place. right after Yoda hits the ground, and before he looks up at his falling cloke. look to the bottom right of the screen, you will see it. it's on the senate floor, not in bails speeder.

 

yoda knew that he did not need his lightsaber
if you looked people when order 66 is executed he feels the pain of jedi dying in his heart. this means that he is so in tune with the force he can feel another dying, in another system.
also yoda felt the need to keep himself hidden so yes he may have seen it but it would not be worthwhile

 

I got that, but you do not see it on him when he dives into Bail's speeder. Only his comlink is on him.

 

I completely agree with darth-sinister on this issue. This thread pokes its head every once in awhile. Yoda clearly lost his lightsaber in the Senate on Coruscant and went to Dagobah without one. The only thing he's got on his belt in Bail's speeder is the comlink he used to call for Organa.

That's Obi Wan's philosophy... Yoda never really addresses it.
In fact, he seems to not think much about sabers in the OT.
Though, in the novel of ESB, he does teach Luke some sabery.

Regardless, Yoda without a lightsaber is no daisy.
Unprotected, he is not.

It's not like it did him a lot of good in the first place.

I say it's gone and he never built a new one.
It was akin to a samurai breaking his own daito.

 

well if you got that, then you are suggesting that Yoda left his saber on the senate floor. even though as stated above that he teaches Luke saber technique on Dagoba. why would he leave it there? that doesn't make sense. it makes more sense that we don't see it. Yoda would not leave his weapon behind. no jedi would.

 

Yoda losing his saber keeps in mode with everyone else losing
their saber. I think GL even mentioned once that he likes
the irony that all the Jedi lose sabers at some point.


Obi Wan loses his in TPM.
Anakin loses his in AOTC.
Obi Wan loses another one in AOTC.
Anakin loses his in ROTS.
Mace loses his in ROTS.
Sidious loses his in ROTS.
Luke loses Anakin's in ESB.

Yes, you can see Luke's saber when he embraces Leia at the end.

Also, I don't see why Yoda doesn't bring another saber with him to Dagobah. After all, he gains his robe he lost in the Senate duel. Also, Obi-Wan has an identical saber in AOTC of the one he lost in TPM.

Jedi master requiring a saber anymore.
What would he need it for?
I like the samurai imagery of him
never using it again.
