I'm not a very good when it comes to the technical part of Star Wars, but I know they're making a huge deal out of the digitally projected thing. I was looking at a list of DLP theaters, and there isn't one in Colorado. Will this take away from the whole 'digital' experience? Or will it look the same as it will on a digital theater. I really have no clue, can anyone clear this whole digital mess up for me?

    Thanks,

As a graphics type, I can tell you that for the most part, your eyes won't be able to tell the difference unless you were watching both versions on side-by-side screens. That's why I use dual monitors when I'm working out my animations....one will be CGI and one is a 3DS, which is fuzzier, but gives a more realistic appearance, whereas the CGI is usually very stark and clear unless altered.

Thanks, kitarusapien ! So does that mean seeing AOTC in a regular theater vs a DLP theater won't make that much difference?

I really, honestly don't believe that you'll know there is a difference until you see it at a DLP theatre, and even then I'd be suprised if you reported back seeing a substantial visual difference. It's just that they sink so much tech and time into a DLP production, that they want the audience to get as much out of it as possible, but the reality is that unless everything about the theatre/projectors, screens, position of the viewer is just right, the differences are not clearly evident.

I'm interested to see if they'll produce the big 70mm version for the IMAX screens. I know that X-Men & LOTR @ Colorado Center on the IMAX I went a little nuts from the feeling of being in the movie while it's playing.

I did get to see LOTR there on the IMAX screen. It was definitely the way to go. BTW you look really familiar.
