Something along the lines of shutting his Liberal party policy pamphlet up, of course.

It will never cease to amaze me how people can never have a civil discussion about politics. (Myself included, which is why I chose not to post in this thread beforehand.)

However if I see anyone stooping to the level of name calling or anatomical suggestions again, I am locking this thread, banning the charming people responsible and removing the right to post about politics from this board. :)

    Yeah most of the time.

It's a board I spend maybe 10 mins a day on if I have time. I'm usually all smiled out, like now when it's 1:20am and I just got home from work.

    So, for you: :)

I also smiled heaps on Saturday night. ;)

They're all lyers, anyhow. I don't see that it makes that much of a difference who I voted for, as long as in my gut I thought they would run the economy alright and not get us into too much cr@p...
    So...same old, same old. :p

Why, if I was still a mod, I'd delete all the conservative Nazi right posts so fast... *shakes fist*

The thing I love about sites like the one CCD mentioned is that they'd be bitching equally as much if Labor won. "Blah blah blah, Latham's going to ruin the economy, we'll all be killed by terrorists, this nation's gone soft", etc. There are overreactionary tools on both sides of the political spectrum, only now the ones on the left have something to really whinge about.

Uh with reference to CCD's link, the last I checked the Democrats were more or less center? That's why they directed their senate preferences to half lib and half lab.

They were originally a centrist party, back when Don Chipp founded them, but they're certainly centre-left. If their prefernces went Liberal ways, I'd imagine that's political decision rather than an ideological.

What do you guys make of the Labor Party's "soul searching"? Is the caucus just going to leave the same favourites on the Labor front bench or should they going to do what's best for the party?
