Thanks LAJ. I just recently figured out how to capture pics from a DVD so that should mean I'll be making some more wallpapers soon. I'll probably also do something in 3d to the Rebel logo like I did with the Imperial and Mandalorian symbols.

 

So I'm not the only person making wallpapers out of DVD screen captures.

Of course, mine are just widescreen stills from the movie, without anything special done in Photoshop.

 

Well I haven't made any DVD screen cap wallpapers yet, but I have made some JC icons with screen captures.

 

YodaJeff, you're definitely not. I've got about 40 that I just need to get the aspect ratio right on and then I'll be posting them. But mine are also with nowt fancy added on.

Yeah, I've noticed that the snapshots my DVD player takes aren't in the correct aspect ratio, so I have to manually fix that. What I usually do is just crop out the black bars, and then just resize the rest to a ratio of 2.35:1. Then, if I want, I can add black bars again.

Only 40? I have around 300 done, with around another 300 in progress. If I ever get motivated, I'll make even more. I found a decent slideshow screensaver, so right now, it just goes through the various AOTC Wallpapers that I have.

 

Oooh 600. Well, quality over quantity YodaJeff.

Besides, I've just gone through the film again (not that that's a hassle ) and got it to 66 really nice shots. Mainly action stuff and generally impressive shots. They look good on my 17 inch monitor at 1024...

Wow, thanks for the pics GMT! Some of those were really good.

I use a slideshow screensaver with Episode 2 pics also. I usually resize 'em to fullscreen for the screensaver, though I prefer to watch the movie widescreen. I have about 200 now (thanks to G-S and others) but would like to get more, especially from the deleted scenes. Any chance you could post your 600, YodaJeff?

I've updated with 10 new Classice trilogy wps. They're rather grainy and full screen, but it's the best you can get from the VCDs.

Those are pretty good, though I agree they're a bit fuzzy.

 

Think of it: it's 2005, the CT DVDs have just come out. And suddenly, gigabytes and gigabytes of web becomes used for new image storage!

I can't wait.

Yep. Especially now that the DVD is out, a lot of people can just take their own screenshots, and making a wallpaper doesn't require nearly as much searching.
