Another thing, this could be just personal preference... but Star Wars' droids usually have a polished appearance like Darth Maul's seeker droid. I know R2-D2 is kinda dirty but he's not completely dirty, but it's up to you. Your textures also look like rock instead of metal, I guess that's just a style thing though.

I still see metasticizing cells under a microscope. No matter how I try I can't see a seeker.

good texturing, the lil' red thingy looks kinda cool... it looks like some kind of Luden's cough drop, or a jolly rancher that's been sucked on for a while... lol. seriously though, so far so good... really interested in seeing the rest.

i guess the base of the matter is that it actually does look like SOMETHING, even if you can't tell quite what it is...

due to the great demand to see the whole model here it is http://yankscatcher.tripod.com/wip/seekertextured2.jpg

keep in mind its a work in progress and not done yet...should I lower the specularity on the main part since it looks kinda wet? what else could I do to improve the look of this model

Deffinately looks wet. Its probably the reflection map as much as the specular level. What app are you using again? Maybe rerender with a white background and farther away so we can see the whole model.

i think i'm going to leave it wet, since my movie is supposed to take place when its raining, and this droid will be in a cave, caves are wet usually at least mine is...i used EI Camera to render this
