    The most elaborate dish I've made has been squash. In the microwave.

    And if I still ate meat, I'd totally eat the Flamin' Hot Cheeto Taco.

    I'm glad you chose not to elaborate on the occasions when hot porridge between the legs was a good thing. Not that I'm judging or anything.

    Well duh, I've been making weapons of mass destruction since I was six. I've been employed by the US government ever since.

    Creme brule!

    Or, as Jello would say, crème brûlée.

    The Boy and I decided to give making it a shot since it's, like, one of my most favorite foods ever. I had bought the stuff for it yesterday, and we got enough to make 4 - 2 vanilla, and then each of us could chose our own flavor.

    The semi-finished product - front two are vanilla, the back left is Baileys and back right is chocolate.
    [image=http://i36.tinypic.com/2isfqqw.jpg]

    BUT, today we also went out and bought a butane torch (Dani, this means you or whoever can have the one that's at home in our closet) so that we could really get the brule part down and...

    [image=http://i34.tinypic.com/281ubkn.jpg]

    And for some more porn of the food variety...

    [image=http://i35.tinypic.com/nvabsl.jpg] [image=http://i38.tinypic.com/2n6dh09.jpg]

    They were yummy!

    Mmmm, that Creme brule looks divine and would be so good after my dinner.

    Since I'm living alone I have been enjoying just cooking whatever it is I want and not having to worry about what others may like. Tonight the recipe was Spanakopita (Greek Spinach Pie)

    It was most delicious.

    Wish I still had my crock pot, otherwise I'd be making chili every weekend.

    How I make it:

    1.5-2 pounds of ground turkey (less greasy than beef)
    2 medium-sized cans of dark red kidney beans
    1/2 chopped white onion (yellow onion is nasty)
    ~40 ounces of tomato sauce
    Chili powder/cayenne pepper, sprinkled liberally
    Crushed red pepper
    Garlic powder, about 1/2 tablespoon
    1 teaspoon of cinnamon
    1 teaspoon of salt
    1 bag of shredded sharp cheddar cheese

    I'd let all that (minus the cheese) stew overnight in the crockpot. Only problem is that it's a hassle to clean up.

    I'm making chili right now! I was not so exact, though - I just threw a bunch of things in the crock pot. Two cans of tomatoes, a can of beans, a red pepper, a yellow pepper, a jalapeno, a habanero, an onion, a clove of garlic, chili powder, and cumin.

    It is, unfortunately, ridiculously spicy. So I fished out the jalapeno and habanero bits I could find, and I'm off to buy some turkey and another can of tomatoes. Oh, and cheese, because we're out.

    We make chili quite often at our house too, we like it especially on cold nights. It always tastes different though depending on what we have to season it with. I agree with Carmen's seasoning except the habenaro, that would be too spicy for me.

    Greg, that's pretty similar to what I do to make chili, in fact I made a big crock pot of it last night.
    But I use beef, and not turkey. And I've never tried cinnamon in it.
    Last time I made chili, I took a few cups of it, and added a few cups of spaghetti sauce and it made super delicious meat spaghetti sauce!

    Every year me and my dad makes our own sausages for Christmas, this is the batch of the year. It ended up quite experimental since we discovered that we were out of ginger when we had already started so we experimented quite a bit with the seasoning.

    [image=http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d103/bandykullan/family/CIMG0534.jpg]

    They are raw since they have to lie in salt for a while before cooking.
