Thank you DivineJedi.... Would you like to "spar" some time? We can "practice" Jedi movements with "swords" (read the topic about Obi-Wan Customes and how I made my lightsabers).

    That should be interesting.

A broomstick handle painted green a sword does not make.

It does just fine for practice.

    That's what it's meant for. Silly. :p

Sure, Fipe, I'd love to. I'll get on making one myself.

    Dear jabzilla:
I do have a copy of the William Wallace sword from the movie Braveheart (broadsword)... but I not going to use it to practice. Using real swords is dangerous. And besides, I'm still working on building a real lightsaber. ;)

Though, I'm willing to listen to any ideas you might have. I was thinking on buying kendo swords for that purpose, but broomsticks are cheaper and more practical. And if treated nicely, they can last a long time. However, I'm not thinking about hard strong hits, mostly practice stands, simulated attacks and defenses. Those work great for taking pictures with your home made customes. And buying one of the FX copies for $250 (more or less) is not a thing I would use to practice.

I apologize if it sounds a little harsh, but it was not my intention. Mostly was an informative approach what I had in mind. But thanks for your comment. It was noted and entered in my mental notes.

    Regards.
    God Bless.

I'm happy to hear that you will be working on your own. Feel free to ask for any guidance if you need some. I'll be glad to provide you with it. I hope that you make a very good copy of a lightsaber.

    Have a wonderful day.

Fipe, if I may make a suggestion? I'm assuming that by Kendo swords, you meant the bokken [solid wooden swords.] Maybe Shinrai swords would work better? They're bamboo, durable [my family practises martial arts] and lighter than normal bokken. They hurt a lot less when you get smacked by one, too. ;]
