Mary Idea: Meeting to Brainstorm Reviving the MD FF

I'm willing to make the drive downstate if the majority of you are willing to get together for a meeting to brainstorm ideas to revive the Maryland Force.

Ideas? Locations?

 

I'm up for it. I think it is a really good idea.

 

Like I've said before, I'm more than willing, I'm just unable too for another year or so due to transportation issues etc. But hopefully when that time does come, Maryland FF will be back on its feet.

I'm coming up on midterms in school, so I'm not sure if I'd be able to make it, but I'll do my best to make it to such a meeting.

I'd be interested in meeting fans from the area, but I'm currently in NY working on a movie. I will be back in the PA/MD area after I'm finished with that.

 

Berkeley County Planetarium is off I-81 at Hedgesville High School in Hedgesville, WV and it is 90 minutes from Baltimore and DC. On January 11 at 4:30 p. m. and repeated on January 13 at 7:00 p. m. I am doing "Ringworld" a program on the upcoing landing of the Huygens probe on Saturn's moon Titan which takes place on Friday night, Jan 14, 2004. These programs are free and open to the public. If ou click on the link you can go to our website. Click on the "planetarium" on the side bar to go to the planetarium. I think they posted directions there as well.

 

If we are going to have a meeting then we need to decide on a location. My idea is that we meet at the Farpoint Convention in Hunt Valley next month. I know there was talk of wanting to have one this month, but this gives everyone time to plan for it. The convention is Feb. 11,12,13.

 

The convention doesn't sound like a bad location, but the only problem I can think of is that is the weekend before Valentine's Day. Some of us may have plans that weekend, and may not be able to attend. I know I will probably be away either that weekend or the one after. However, should everyone else be able to attend that weekend, I will make every attempt to do so, also.

 

I understand that it is the weekend before Valentines Day. I was just throwing it out there as an idea. I'm planning on going to it anyway so that is why I suggested it. But we do need to decide on a time and a place. We all know that we should have one but I think that someone is going to have to stand up and take charge. I would be willing to do so but I don't want to step on the toes of anyone who has been here longer.

 

Does anyone else have any ideas of when/where to meet?
