Spring, MO Lightsaber building party

Over in the costuming thread, we've been discussing having a lightsaber building party. I've got a general idea of a plan and can, if necessary, host it. So the big question now is who wants to come, and what dates work for you guys?

 

I am in! Weekends are usually better for me as we never know if Jeremy will be working nights or days as they like to mix up his schedule. This Sat. I am out though.

 

Susan and I might be able to make it as long as it is on a weekend and I have enough warning to get the time off. I just finished Susan's bone saber and it turned out sweet. I used the mini-Mag Light system I described on the costuming thread for it as well. I am trying to get some pics of both my vibro/light saber as well as hers but our camera is quite old and takes 3.5 disks. I then have to transfer them to my big computer and then bring them over to the lap top since it is the one that is connected to the internet but doesn?t have a 3.5 drive. We are planning on getting a better camera at some point but don't know when.

 

I have two heiland's and a graflex that i have still yet to touch after i built my first one

 

I am interested as I do need one.

! I have had to work A LOT lately. I work this weekend coming up the holiday I think I am off the 21st. But have to look at the schedule. Just let me know, If they are to monthly.

I don't want to push things too far back lest we need to cancel and we run out of time before I go back to school.

I have a lot of shifts this month and school.

 

I'm pretty open on when. Weekends are better as hubby's schedule is always up in the air, but I could always bring my kids if I had too. So, just schedule it and I will do my darnedest to be there.

 

If you think you'll be available the 21st of July, then let's tentatively schedule something for that date.

I'm thinking we'll start at my house. I have samples of many of the materials we'd be using as well as a few example sabers (if I can dig them out of storage) and then I'll let everyone try to get an idea together and sketch out some plans and get a list of parts. From there, we'll head to a hardware store, I'll show you guys where everything is, and then we can come home and work on assembling.

NOTE: If anyone else has a Dremmel, please bring it! I only have one.

Perhaps I should start outlining an official schedule. What time does everyone want to meet up?

 

I wish that I could attend as I need a saber but I just don't have the money for parts.

 

Can't find $15 laying around? It's not like it's expensive.
