Nope, I'm not on any panels.

 

Hudgens believes his flight comes in at 1 p.m., if he doesn't switch until later -- Thursday morning is when the San Diego Comicon hotel reservations open, and everyone who's going sits on the computer trying to battle for the right to pay $600 a room. (Think I'll give that one a miss this year.) In any event, that puts me out there that afternoon, so if you need someone to run back for John O., just let me know. I can PM my cell number to whoever needs it.

Wow, $600 bucks. Wonder how they'll do in the economic downturn. Yipes. Will let you know on picking John O. up. It sounds like once Carlin gets with his Guest person, he'll know if he needs any help. I may have to email this weekend to remind him to let us know.

RE: the airport - I'll be meeting Lisa that afternoon (depending on when she gets in town), but Tim is free all day. Either way, between all of us, we can collect everyone if Carlin needs help.

I'm passing on SDCC this year. I looked at what I've spent the past few years going and went, "YIKES!"

I'd like to save up and hit a SW Celebration, and just have Phoenix be the only con I fly to. If/when Dave and I get BT up and running again and we've got stuff to show I wouldn't mind going back to SD, but would almost rather hit something like HEROES, Megacon, or NY.

PS- just got my new BT postcards in today! They look awesome. Now if I could just get Dave to send me some prints to sell there...

 

I can do airport runs or whatever else needs doing. It's not like I have anything better to do!

 

Forgot to mention: For those who are coming to make shirts Sunday, bring an iron if you can. We've got a work table, but only one iron.

 

BJ PMd me yesterday and said they are a tentative, about 80% sure on Thursday. Just depends on Darren and Gary's schedule.

We've got the banner, postcards, business cards, posters, prizes, and SMTees done. Lots accomplished this past week or two. I'll finish up the couple certificates I need to tonight and snag a couple frames on Wednesday.

Kelly asked my how I did the design, so here are the pencils, the inked line art, color flats, one with a bit of work done, and final piece.

I drew the head and body separately (the scarf and chains were an afterthought when I drew the body). I then scanned them into Photoshop, sized them, and printed it out as one image to ink. Then once that was done I scanned the inked art and started doing the color flats, finishes, and then all the type.

I should have kept up with more of the progress but that's pretty much how it went.

 

You did an amazing job Lin! We are so lucky to have such talented artists willing to do things like this for the club. Thanks to Tim and Traci for opening their home and Nicki for helping get these shirts done. We will all look great at MSC and this will really help get the word out that yes, there is a Star Wars Fan Force in Memphis. See you all Friday!

The shirts look great! I put SMT logos on all the white shirts we had left over, so we'll have a few extras.

 

Not a problem- was glad to do it and have been meaning to for some time now. Maybe with all this new promo stuffs and a website relaunch we'll get the word out.

I've got a few more ideas for promo art, and I know Nicki has got something she wants me to draw so we'll definitely have some more cool stuff for the next celebration and next year's MSC.

Tim- thanks for getting the postcards and business cards ordered, oh- and making the tablecloth. I've got some postcard stands here we can use, and have a Vader helmet and some other stuff for the table over at Nicki's.

Oh, does anyone have a red scarf they can bring to the con?

I picked up Raffle tickets, a Dry Erase board and some sanitary hand wipes for our table this morning. Also got John O.'s flight times and PMd him that we're picking him up.

Just on a note...I wallow in exhaustion and frustration that all of my art prints will have the nasty streakies that some laser printers get at the sides of the prints. But I have not the resources to go to Kinko's. Oh well. *wallow wallow passes out*

The restaurant can do separate checks we just need to make sure that we let them know before we order, so that orders can be put in orders separately from the beginning.

Parking is a challenge, but valet parking is available, and you can park along the street as well.

Reservations are under my name, they said just be there by 6:30, but we shouldn't be there too much earlier than that.
