    I remember that summer Rooty, it was the one I joined here and I remember trying to fit in.....you guys were great at letting me hang out with you even though I was so much older. Over the years I've come to see you all like family and when you disappeared for a year or two it was like losing a relative. I'm so glad you came home, GC was never the same without you. Happy 10 Years!

    It is perhaps reading a bit into the comment that Mindor "is my attempt to get the EU back to its pre-Zahn roots -- specifically, to evoke memories of my all-time favorite Star Wars books, Brian Daley's Han Solo novels." (http://mattstover.blogspot.com/2007/02/hey.html)

    I read that (and the general tone of Mindor the novel) as sort of "Zahn doesn't know Star Wars, and we need to ditch him for Daley and me." You could, of course, read it differently, but I didn't.
