Yeah, you're probably right.

The older characters in the casting call list are probably going to be villains and/or friends of the main characters.

 

I'd like to see something along the lines of a Force flash. Sort of like Force lightning but it lights up the immediate surrounding area and you can briefly see Force ghosts.

 

What does that have to do with the EU?

why does everybody assume Jaina Solo or Ben Skywalker or any of the children of the big three is going to make an appearance?

 

It's inevitable that at least the child of Luke or Leia will be a main character--this is the Skywalker saga, after all. It's doubtful that it'll be Jaina Solo or Ben Skywalker in any sense meaningful to EU fans, however.

 

I'm on the fence if they should use the EU-Solo kid names but I think "Ben", if Luke has a male kid, is a pretty humdinger nick to use. Not the exact character and his history but the name is pretty nifty.

I've said it before: while I don't particularly like any of the names of the Solo kids, "Ben Skywalker" is a genuinely good choice for Luke's son.

 

i agree but the way they have portrayed Ben in the EU is just...well i can't find the words.

 

They might just use the names, because they own, license, and trademark them, plus it would confuse future writers if they go to the Holocron, and
they find two to three names for Luke's wife.

Two, or three names for Luke's kid.

and who knows how many for the Solo kids.

 

"humdinger" means "something that is very impressive or exciting"

"nick" means name. Well, technically nickname. But that's spiting hairs.

It was just trying to phrase that I think it is a good name in an amusing manner.

I apologize if my efforts were for naught.

But if they click on "Ben Skywalker: Original EU" that might confuse the poor guy even more!

Here's what'll really bake your noggin: if Ep. 7 has "Ben Skywalker" what happens to the original "Ben Skywalker" page? Does Wookiepedia page bounce to Ben Skywalker, original EU ver. 1 or does it land you at "Ben Skywalker" Ep. 7 (as portrayed by Zac Effron)

Surely whatever is currently canon would be the default page. Although this whole thing could quickly devolve into diverging timelines a la Back to the Future Part II...

 

If there isn't a continuity wipe/rewrite (which is what I think is the cleanest way to go) story, and they label both post ROTJ "official canon" timelines, then I guess you could argue that a coinflip as the most fair way to go.

 

49.5% chance it goes to Ben Skywalker (E7)
49.5% chance it goes to Ben Skywalker (EU)
1% chance it goes to Willrow Hood (the true hero of the saga)

That's how I'd work it.

 

They should just make two connected wikias, one with all information from universe A and one with information from universe B.

 

I can almost guarantee you that this is what will happen.

 

well i will say this, if any EU characters end up being in the new trilogy (including original and Prequel trilogies) all of their articles will need a overhaul.
