Saw at Popular, retailing at $22. Anyone knows where I can get it cheaper?

    WHAT?!
    $22?!?!

I'm going to PS in a while. Maybe I'll check MJ for something.
And I might check HMV tomorrow or something.

    OMG! HMV has it?!
Does it have that Golden Box like it was reported here?

    http://www.theforce.net/latestnews/story/HMV_Exclusive_ROTS_Soundtrack_Cover_91933.asp

And are they trying to rip us off because there's a DVD?! *pissed*

Its supposed to be bundled at no extra cost! It should be around $20 or even less!
    Damn, now I know why I'm anti-Sony.

I've not seen it myself. Maybe it's best if you can check it out yourself, or wait for JediJean to reply.

I may check it out at Tower Records. Since that's where I bought the AOTC OST last time.

But I'm still kinda mad its selling at this price. Its not supposed to happen. Its supposed to be sold like any other soundtrack. The DVD is bundled at no extra cost!

I went to Gramophone at Capitol yesterday but it was sold out!!

I then checked Sembawang in Raffles City and indeed it was selling at $26+.

Finally I went to HMV in City Link, and bought it for $24+. It came with a Darth Vader poster -- I'm not sure if you'll get that elsewhere?

Any picture on what the Darth Vader poster looks like?

It shows Vader's head and upper body, with his right arm outstretched. On the top right corner are the words "Rise Lord Vader" and at the bottom is "STAR WARS/Episode III/Rating to be Advised/With Chinese subtitles".

At least that's how I remember it...I looked at it yesterday when I brought it back to my room but I don't have it with me now so there's a possibility that some of the details may be wrong (for example, it COULD have been "Lord Vader Rise" instead of the other way round).

wmgan - Do you want a set or two of the postcards? I can help you collect, and will pass to you on one of the days.

Hey that will be great, Jazz, thanks! Do you already have extras, or do you know where to get them? Cause I can get them myself if you let me know where (I know there's a thread about it here somewhere but I haven't read it...)

By the way, I just went to Gramophone, and the ROTS soundtrack is selling for about $22 too. Dunno if it comes with the poster.

Don't worry I've got extras for those who don't have any yet.

Looks like S$22 is the cheapest. By the way where is Gramaphone?

I'm not sure how many poster designs there are available for the OST, but so far there's only been one..

There are 7 designs in total for postcards. Check out the ROTS Postcards thread to discuss about where to find them.

    :)

I don't know about other stores, but I asked the guy at the HMV counter whether there were a few designs I could choose from and he said they were all the same. Well, even if there were a few I would have chosen Vader anyway, so what the hey. =)

Reminds me of the time when I bought the Chamber of Secrets soundtrack and was disappointed to get the Ron card -- I managed to *illegally and secretly* exchange it with a Hermione card in an unwrapped CD at MPH Midvalley (in KL, Malaysia). =D (The CDs were in those resealable plastic slip-cases, so I just took them out one-by-one and looked for a card that I wanted. Yes, I can be naughty! Haha. But anyway I replaced it with the Ron card I had, so I don't consider myself having done anything illegal. I certainly wasn't stealing!)

Anyway...Jazz, there are three (to my knowledge) Gramophone outlets in Singapore -- one in Capitol Centre (near City Hall MRT station, opposite St. Andrews' Church), one in Paragon (basement, beside M1) and one in a shopping centre whose name I don't know, opposite Somerset MRT station.

You mean Specialist Centre (where John Little's is, and where Comics Mart used to be)... that's where the original Gramophone store is. Followed by the one at Capitol Centre (which used to be called Music Warehouse), and the latest one at Paragon.

If you haven't been to Gramophone before, you ought to go there, 'cos prices are very reasonable, if you ask me... and the variety can rival places like HMV and Tower Records, depending on which store you go to... I favour going to either Specialist Centre or Capitol Centre... the guys at the Paragon store somehow aren't as helpful.

The DVD prices in particular are definitely worth consideration, 'cos they are some of the most reasonably priced Code 1 DVDs in Singapore, if you ask me :)

I got my Code 1 Star Wars classic trilogy (widescreen) DVD set there... way before I saw it in any other stores (everywhere else seemed to be selling only Code 3).

I also remember that their Indiana Jones trilogy Code 1 DVD set was much, much cheaper than at HMV, though I didn't buy it.
