What PC games are people looking forward to this year? I'm looking forward to Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds on PC the most.

    This year? hmm...
SW's based, I'd have to say yes, Battlegrounds does sound hopefull.
Non-SW.. Definately Diablo2: Lord of Destruction and Half-life: Blue Shift
there are a few others that look interesting (Duke Nukem, World GT Racing, etc etc) but I dont get time to play games on the computer much these days... :(

I agree to the above but I'll also add Thief III and Deus Ex II as non starwars games I'd love to see.

Just finished Thief II. Great game but the ending was a huge anti-climax. I guess the first game's ending was too a little bit but not to that extent. I'm still looking forward to the 3rd one.

I just recently finished the Opposing Force add-on for Halflife. Pretty good but also pretty short. I think it's more of a multiplayer add-on. Probably my favourite FPS style game (though it's a bit of a FPS/adventure hybrid) is Deux Ex. I love a game where you get the action, a good storyline and the need for strategy & other aspects that most FPS games don't have.

Mutley: Its a Mod, so dont get rid of HL, cause you'll need it to play..

Soniel: I agree with you that Deus Ex is one of the coolest games about, but I've lost track of where I am and what Im supposed to be doing... u finished it? care to offer some tips/direction to my wanderings?

Feel free to send Deus Ex questions my way. I've finished the game twice. The second time I did a lot more exploring. It's amazing how much more I discovered that I didn't find the first time through.
There's so many ways to play the game too. The first time I took pretty much a commando/sniper approach. The second time I relied much more on stealth and silent/non-lethal take-downs, almost like playing Thief.

Deus Ex is an excellent game. I can't run it on my comp but I also know it chews alot of memory up and hard disk drive space.

It's like 8mb per saved game or something big like that. Go to www.planetdeusex.com

It certainly does have big savegame files. It's an excellent game though. I'd recommend it to anyone who's tired of the repetitive Quake style run along and shoot everything in sight kind of games.
Although the graphics are good, the best part about the game is the way it's played. It's one of the least restrictive games I've played. Games like this are always a little bit linear but this one certainly gives a great deal of freedom. There's lots to explore and usually several ways of accomplishing an objective.
To illustrate, I got though Star Trek Elite Force in one weekend. Deus Ex too several weeks of solid play. It's not a game that would suit everyone but I love it.

I tried the demo of that ages ago. Never tried the full game. I guess I get my share of that kind of adventure from playing all the Tomb Raider games. Let's face it, I'd rather watch Lara Croft's behind than Indy's behind. ;)
