We bought my daughter a Panasonic FS-16, I believe the model number in the US is the FH-2 in the US. NMice little camera, quick, decent picture quality, good feature set. It was less than €100, which would be about $125.

At that price, there's not much out there. Most of the compact cameras are about the same around that price point. There's not much to distinguish them.

Warmblood Inspection today. I'd never been to something like this before. Basically they evaluate the horse to see if he fits their standards to be labeled with the Warmblood brand. This is based on movement at the walk, movement at the trot, conformation, and temperament.

This first horse was rare. An Appaloosa crossed with an Oldenburg. Amazing movement and gorgeous markings.

The second one was very cute for a weanling (less than a year old) and I really like the dynamic of this photo.

Lake Trasimeno Italy, a place I'd wanted to see for years.
Note the medieval town on the isthmus... iPhone cam couldn't bring it any closer but I really liked the cloud effect from that distance.

I went camping in Devon earlier this month and I finally got round to uploading some of the photos from the trip.

That may be the most beautiful horse I've ever seen.

From vacation on the Adriatic in August. Storm front was coming as the sun was going down. Not bad for an iPhone picture, I think. [IMG]

What I liked on this scene were the backlit clouds on the blue sunset sky .

more sunset also after a storm front came through.

I agree. I wasn't going to stay at the inspection long but when I overheard someone talking about this horse I decided I needed to stay!

Why did you cut off her head and chin, like that?

I love the definition in the first shot, but the balance of the photo seems weird to me. When it first popped up on my screen my view cut off the bottom half of the photo and I thought it was exquisite, but then I scrolled down and it bothered me with the random shadow arm there.

I like the head shot. She had gorgeous eyes.

harps- It felt right when I took it. :)

horsey- I go back and forth on it. I've been printing more square pics, and I may crop out the bottom on this one.

I think you should crop it. The more I look at it that way the more I like it.

Courtyard of the hotel we stayed at. This about 20 yards from the Forum so I bet it was some very rich dude's villa garden way, way, way back when.
