Atlantic Question about holidays in the states

Ok, is Columbus Day considered a national holiday in the states?

 

Only for postal workers and libraries.

 

Like government jobs?

I work for Prudential (an American insurance company) and customers are wondering why we're open on Monday. I wish I had Monday off. Cuz Monday is the Canadian Thanksgiving and it's also Columbus Day.

Yes, it's a national holiday.

However, your prudential is located in the States, so you wouldn't have the day off. Although since you're in Canada, you should. Wait...what the heck is up with that?? Who's gonna come buy a house on Thanksgiving?

 

You do realize that if you posted on any other fanforce board, DB, and you had a question about a different country, you'd probably have to go to that other country's fanforce board to ask it.

I like American Thanksgiving. It's a four day weekend

 

That would be nice if they gave us all four of those days off. I also get Independence Day off and Christmas, and all that. But no, not my own country's birthday!

Ok, so what's the deal with Boxing Day. I went to work today (sure as hell didn't want to go in, I was so bitter, I wanted to throttle someone!). Anyway, the point is, I got to my desk and there were 30 calls waiting! Who is calling on Boxing Day about their insurance. INSANE! What's wrong with America and we were so understaffed cuz they let everybody have boxing day off. GAhhAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
