yeah, i didn't mean what if he loves everyone who worships him and follows his rules. i mean what if he loves everyone unconditionally, whether they are christian, atheist, buddhist, muslim, gay, straight, poor, rich, whatever. what if he accepts everyone exactly the way they are? would you be disappointed?

 

He does love everyone, but still has to go by the law He has set down to turn unto Him. He's creator and God, not man. He makes the rules, and will judge according to how they were obeyed or not.

It was to take dominion over the Earth. That's apart of why He had to send His Son, to take the deed taken by satan at the garden. He wanted to dwell with us, still does. Lucifer didn't like that, that's part of the reason he rebelled. I'm not sure what is it about us humans He likes, but He does.

It does. He created us to rule, satan didn't want to be held lower than humans. He took dominion from man in the garden, but Jesus took it back and will be returning to deliver His people.

 

Do you think critically about the things you read in the bible, or that you hear from others? I mean, do you question these things until they make sense to you, or do you take them at face value? I mean, do you truly understand what you are saying here, or are you mindlessly repeating what you've been told?

 

Tom: I think that may be something of a conflation of terms. I don't think that loving someone unconditionally requires an unqualified endorsement of all their actions and behaviors. For instance, many people in the US to have older relatives whose views may be frankly racist or sexist. I don't think loving them requires that people agree with their relatives on said points, or refuse to rebut them. Instead, I think the idea of unconditional love is that in spite of any disagreements you may or may not have, there is still a broad universe worth actions you'd be willing to take on their behalf. But how broadly does that extend? And how does that scale from a human to an omnipotent being? I should think it pretty arguable that the standard is met, which is the thrust behind all the "rain on the just and unjust" arguments.

 

I take it as it is, but do do research along with many other things. As far as angels go...they can be confusing...

JW: He does love everyone, and gives opportunities, like say a parent would with a child. But still that parent has to reward or discipline based on what they decide to do.

 

Not sure. Military situation of ending suffering on a go yeah, mercy kill maybe. Maybe. But in a environment when you're not...might be too close to it.

To a point. You can choose one way or another of to do good or bad. He knows your decision either way, but still offers the chance for you to choose rightly anyway.
