Republic Commando: Hard Contact (Fan Film)

Hey there guys and gals, a friend referred me to scifi3d.com, which lead me here.
My studio (Foenix Studios) is trying to make an all CGI, fan film of Karen Traviss' Republic/Imperial Commando book series.
I'm looking for people who are willing to work for free.

-3D character artist
-Animation artist/s


Here's a basic description of the story for those of you that don't know it:

"As the Clone Wars rage, victory or defeat lies in the hands of elite squads that take on the toughest assignments in the galaxy?stone-cold soldiers who go where no one else would, to do what no one else could?
On a mission to sabotage a nanovirus research facility on a Separatist-held planet, four clone troopers operate under the very noses of their enemies. The commandos are outnumbered and outgunned, deep behind enemy lines with no backup and working with strangers instead of trusted teammates. Matters don't improve when Darman, the squad's demolitions expert, gets cut off from the others during planetfall. Even Darman's apparent good luck in meeting a Jedi Padawan vanishes once she admits to her woeful inexperience.
For the isolated clone commandos and stranded Jedi, a long, dangerous journey lies ahead, through hostile territory brimming with Trandoshan slavers, Separatists and suspicious natives. A single misstep could mean discovery? and death. It's a virtual suicide mission for anyone?anyone except Republic Commandos."

 

So...what exactly would you be doing? Does your studio have any animators?

 

I myself am currently making a website for the studio (but we're using a temporary free forum for now).
I'm also the one finding people for the project, and organizing it.

And no we don't have any animators at the moment, are you interested?

 

If you had some quality concept sketches or something else to show that the project is going somewhere...then I might consider.
But as it's going I'm a bit swamped with payed 3D work.
Like I said, get some proof of concept stuff up and more people will be willing to talk.

 

Ok, just give me a few days to put up some more of the work they've done.

Are you planning on using the models available from Scifi3D? Among the Republic crafts, they have a very detailed Acclamator: http://www.scifi3d.com/list.asp?intGenreID=10&intCatID=11

I'd like to see more concepts, but I'm sorry to say I don't think I'll be able to help?

And we're trying to make everything ourselves.
So unless I get the people who made those models to join our studio, then no.

 

Are you going for a cartoony not-quite-realistic look?

 

No, we're trying to make it as realistic as possible.
But this is our first try at it so it may seem different.

 

Gotcha, the models just look a bit like miniatures. It's probably just the lack of detail.

 

When I get my computer back up, I would be up for doing some environmental cgi shots, using vue. I'll post some shots I've done tomorrow, maybe later tonight. Could do them as stills, or video, though video takes forever to render, and when a video is rendering, it's all that can be going on the computer. lol

I also wouldn't mind doing some voice acting. I've been wanting to see a republic commando fan film for a while. Might even be willing to do some writing, but I haven't read the books.

 

Alright just post a link to your work when you show it, a still shot is fine btw.
As for the acting I would need to here your voice.
So if you having a recording of yourself already or just make a new one and put it on Youtube.

For VO I believe I used his voice talents once. (For an animated lego film that was never completed)
I can vouch for the talent though.
