Last week, an international chat session has been held on the Holonet website for the first time, creating an opportunity to meet many different people from around the world. The participation was more than expected, we have met people that would be the future members of the alliance and together, we have made very important decisions.

First of all, we have agreed on a name. From now on, our alliance will be officially known as ?S.W.O.R.A.?, meaning the ?Star Wars Outer Rim Alliance?.

And secondly, Gerald Home has become the official ambassador of S.W.O.R.A. He also became the honorary member of SWCC of Portugal.

With this opportunity given to us by TFN, we call all the fans around the world and sincerely invite them. We wish to see more countries as the members of S.W.O.R.A.
Finally, we would also like to announce a contest. We are in need of a logo for S.W.O.R.A., and in order to have one, we decided to hold a logo design contest. There is a prize of course, the designer of the winning logo will get an autographed photo from the ambassador Gerald Home!

    Here are the rules:

    1. The logo must have a Star Wars theme. It may include Star Wars characters, weapons, planets, etc.

    2. The logo must include the name S.W.O.R.A. or Star Wars Outer Rim Alliance.

    3. The contest begins on January 20, 2008 and will end on January 27, 2008. This is the final day for contestants to apply.

    4. The applications will be held on the message boards of the member countries.

    5. There will be applications from the other member countries as well.

    6. From the entries, Gerald Home will make the final selection and choose the winner. The winner will be announced on January 30 on each member website. This logo will be the official logo of S.W.O.R.A.

    7. The designer of the winning logo will get a signed photo from Gerald Home.

As the members of S.W.O.R.A., we wish good luck to all contributers on this task!"

P.S.: The links for the member country boards which you can send your designs:

I think I should update everyone about the current situation of SWORA :)

Well, the contest have ended and the winning logo is from Poland. Jan Okulewicz's design has been selected by Gerald Home, and Jan was awarded with an autographed photo of the Calamari Men! You can view his design here:

And since then, the borders of the alliance got wider and wider. Currently, SWORA has 8 members, 8 of which is from Poland, Turkey, Belgium, New Zealand, Portugal, Hungary and 2 widely known websites from England. These members have formed the "SWORA Council", the core that will make the most important decisions about SWORA in the future.

Currently, the SWORA Council is working on a SWORA Declaration, which has information about what this alliance is, the roots of the alliance, how to become a member and what kind of requirements are asked from the appying groups. The declaration is almost complete and waiting for confirmation by all the members of the council.

Once that is done, the SWORA Council will be working on the official SWORA website and forums. Stay tuned for more news on this!

Also, SWORA will have its first debut on this weeks Jedi-Con in Dusseldorf. Be sure to find Lukasz Mlotkowski, he has alot to tell you!
