Calgary Saturday Dec 2nd. " Fame for Food"

City TV's 10th Annual Fame for Food.

Location: Sobye's to be determined
Date: Dec 2nd
Time: Between Noon and 6pm

Like last year let start collecting food for this event.
This is open to all members of the fan force that want to have there face on TV for a holiday greeting. If you have a costume please bring it.

We will need the Banner as well for this event.

Let also get some holiday greetings thought up so were not put on the spot like last year. lol

 

Last year, we said something along the lines of...

It worked really well, and I don't necessarily think anyone outside of the FF would know if we used it again, but it might be fun to brainstorm something new.

We've learned from watching the last several years of Fame for Food ads that having everyone say everything in unison is rediculous - no one can understand you, unless you say something short, sweet, and easily recognizable (like "MTFBWY"). So having one person say the main part of the message is the best idea.

This year we can include our banner! It's currently living at my house. If we could print up a large white banner with our web site, that might be good, too...

Also, last year, we were at a loss as to what to do afterwards - that's a whole lotta' work to get into costume for only 5 minutes in front of the camera. It might be fun to plan to go for lunch afterwards. Just a thought.

Of course, the most important part of all of this is helping out the FOOD BANK, so, I'm issuing the first annual Tosche Station Food Bank Challenge!

Whichever member of the Fan Force that donates the most food at the November Meeting (date TBA) will win a $25 gift certificate to use at a certain Collectibles Store here in Calgary (thanks Dooks!).

You don't have to buy all the food yourself; get your co-workers in on it. Get your Rez mates or your classmates in on it.

And do we bring food there, or to the meeting, then 1 person brings it all to Sobeys?

 

Bring it to the meeting as there is a contest for the most food. You can also bring more to the event as well.

 

Uhhh...who's taking all this food home after the meeting?

 

Who ever brings the most. JK. I'll take it home if nobody else volenteers.

"Fame for Food" was a great time. We had a smaller turn out than last year, but it was a good time nonetheless.

It was clear that the crew were really excited to see us there. I imagine that having a group like ours was a nice change from the steady stream of families all recording the same thing over and over - and we gave them a bit of a challenge.

We explained about our Luke Skywalker figure and they were keen to feature him - so he got his own closeup! There were lightsabers and helmets and all kinds of fun things. PreludeRM and DrHaggis exchanged cards with the hosts, and they said they would be interested to hear all about our group, so it might mean lots more publicity with CityTV in the future.

They said that the video will be posted on the CityTV web site by the end of the week. I'm sure we'll post a link here as soon as we know about it.

Thanks to Shawn, Jamie (is that how you spell your name?), Ryan, Crystal, Paul, and Cobi-Wan for coming! Next year will be bigger and better!

Jami wasn't there because her car broke down, and she couldn't give Ian a ride, so I picked him up. But overall, Yeah, it was fun.
