Is there anybody else that follows the world cups in skiing, I watch Eurosport every weekend and like to follow ski jumping, biathlon, alpine and cross country skiing.

So does anybody want to talk about skiing?

Ah, my favourite sport is ski jumping!!!
Even if there hasn't been that much of it because of the weather. Too bad, since the Swedes did quite good in Finland.

I'm a bit more traditional so I'm not so fond of border or skicross. Do you ski yourself? I'm more or less brought up on skis, unfortunately we haven't gotten any snow up here (Sweden) yet.

The first time I went skiing when I was 9 years. Since then i went almost every year to Bavaria. Where I live, there are no mountains. :-(

I saw that the german ladies did well on the biathlon today, Magdalena Forsberg won but I think that it was just Germans after her.

They are doing pretty good in biathlond. The men took 3rd a couple of weeks ago. The germans don´t do good in Super-G, Slalom and the other downhill stuff though.
Did you see the race in Italy today?
Austria took like the first 4, then Norway and then like 2 or 3 Austrians again.....

Nah, I didn't have time to watch it today, I'm writing an essay. It's a bit boring that Austria is so much better than other nations in alpine, just like Norway sometimes in cross country.

Well, do you remember when Alberto Tomba was still around? He won like almost every single race!

Yeah, I remember Tomba, in fact I've sat in his lap once. But my classmates never understood how big that was, I was 6.

It's been quite good days for Sweden, the cross country yesterday, and today Fredrik Nyberg got third in giant slalom.

I really can't understand why German isn't that good in alpine, among the men. You've gotten good women, and you do have mountains. On the other hand, Sweden isn't that good in women's cross country even if the men are good.

Even the german women aren´t good anymore....maybe they don´t have any young talents....I dunno....

The wasn´t ONE german skiier in giant slalom!
    LOL Austria won again...

I am so excited....New Years Jumping is approaching...hope they have better weather then in Kuopio, two weeks ago!

    Hopefully they will have snow.

On the 23rd Eurosport will send a program about the new years jumping, I think it's about 19.00.

Well, I think I can say that it will go quite well for the german guys in the hills, I just hope that some Swede will qualify and get among the 30.

As you mention skiing...I was strolling along the slopes of Trondheim, Norway today, and something hit me. Why haven't we seen skiing in a fanfilm yet? In the Jedi academy trilogy Han and Kyp Durron goes skiing. Really intense reading. It surprided me that they actually suddenly went off skiing...like starwars...(?) So I thaugt that would be cool for a fanfilm, if done right with a daredeviled actor hiving down a hilly, snowy mountain with the goal of complete control of the most impredictible obstacles during its couse.

That's what I thaught anyway. (Maybe 'ol Ben is up for skijumping in Episode II for all that I know...)

I don't know if any swedes qualified. Right now I'm watching the nordic combined, it seems like if Bjarte Engen Vik or Kristian Hammer is going to win.

I think the competition in Garmich was really funny to watch. I was really impressed with Adam Malysz's jump, and overall all the last jumpers did good. Martin Schmitt didn't win, but I don't think nr 8 is that bad.

Martin can´t win everytime. Yup Malysz´s jump was impressing! It was like "Wow! He´s gonna jump into the crowd!"

I am glad Janne Ahonen did good, too.
    Really like the Finish team.

Kinda felt sorry for Hoellwart and Wiedhoelzl at Obersdorf. I mean Wiedhoelzl won the tour last year and now he´s doing not so good.

It is good to see the Japanese team back, too.
