I just figured with new forum software and all, I'd at least have to retype my login info. They certainly transferred the crap out of this place.

I think everyone basically knows what everyone's been up to thanks to Twitter and Facebook. I'm not even sure why I'm here right now :p

Funny you should mention that, I just happened to be thinking about the fact that since I got a shmancy new smart phone, I've checked my twitter less than I did with a craptastical phone... Odd...

And I only have you and Ryan on my facebook.

... So it would seem that After Effects is in a mood to annoy me today... (Yes, my After Effects has a mind of its own, don't know about anyone else). I'm trying to roto a couple sabers in a picture. I'm using the same method I always use, and yet instead of good looking sabers, it give me blobs on the picture.

    Example:
What it usually comes out as.

And what I'm getting this time.

Anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening? My theory at the moment is that it's because of the face I'm making in the picture...

Wow, Fan Films came back in a hurry!

I was kind of afraid the move would kill it.

Woohoo! Nice to see the forums back up, and looking shiny.

Sith-Man, I see what you mean, the colours definitely are different. :p

Depending on the method you're using, have you remembered to put a black solid in the background or drop of the opacity on some of the glows? One of my mates used to have similar problems to that, giving the same kind of look.

Yeah, I did everything exactly the same. What annoys me most is that I used the exact same green, (a custom saber color preset of mine), in this picture .

On a side note, sad news about Michael Clark Duncan. Made me want to tear up.

My guess is you don't have a layer's transfer mode set properly.

S-M: have you changed the blur settings?
Blade's a lot bigger in the self-portrait than in the older pics; could just be that a smoother fall-off of the feathering is in order.

Yup... Could it be because of the white background?

Possible, although I'd say it looks best where it's on the brightest bg...we're talking about the shot of yourself with the two sabers, right?...Over the shadowy areas I see a really sharp edge to the green glow.

Yeah, the shot with the two sabers. And yeah, preserve luminosity is checked, it looks really crazy without that.

So... I'm about to start Doctor Who... And I mean really 'Start' Doctor who... About to hit play on the very first episode ever to have been aired. That's right, I'm about to embark on a ride through fifty years of British television history.

Just for kicks, I'm gonna write up reviews as I go, and put them on my sites blog...

Gonna be a slow going, very long possess, but wish me luck.
