I seem to have woken up the ignorant with this one, first check this out:

    http://boards.theforce.net/message.asp?topic=1713033&replies=26

And then tell me, am I asking too much here?
is this really too hard for people to comprehend? Why are these people responding like this?
I would like to know what you guys think of this, both the issue at hand and their reaction.

Dude, you're really obsessed with this. You should post here as well, then you'll have the entire board covered ;P

And you seem obsessed about following every one of my posts on this subject.
I'll say it to you again, because you obviously keep missing this point.
If you want to read and discuss spoilers noone is saying you shouldn't, just do so in the appropriate forum.
Anytime you need that repeated just let me know, it's obviously taking some time to sink in for you.

Sith, I'll put in my 2c worth.

I know how you feel. Spoilers by their nature spoil, and you I assume are like me and wish to know as little (if at all possible-nothing)about SW2.

The problem with spoilers is that people get excited and post in the wrong area-or they develop a sudden illness(they have a Bond type illness called "Dont remember") about where to post them, some make honest mistakes and kick themselves for days afterwards.

The JC and all it's Admins try hard to keep areas that should be "clean" spoiler free. DLM has by the look of the link acted on your concern and I know that Chyren won't tolerate spoilers in the wrong areas. The only solution, if you find a spoiler-contact an Admin at the link provided in your original thread and they will take care of it, previous history shows they will ban repeat offenders.

And remember just because someone was not nice to you-2 wrongs don't make a right-sometimes the better person should just walk away....... :)

Is it just me or does it seem that the non-fanforce forums seem a lot less friendly and a lot more hostile than these ones? You dare to post on the other forums and everyone thinks it's an invitation to argue. That's why I never got involved with the JC forums when they first started and that's why I wasn't too keen on our nice friendly fanforce forums merging. Fortunately they're still more or less separate so these forums haven't been ruined as I feared.

    Guys,
No offence I know how you feel, the great thing prior to the move, very few ventured outside of our own area(Oz) but with the move to the JC everyone goes to other areas and people can come here, we are all connected, we can all see where everyone posts etc.

I don't think it's a case of the JC being bad it's just some people can get way to carried away(and like me annoyed with the whole thing)

Sith, nothing you did was wrong-I've seen worse, you could call me a jerk here and no-one cares including me LOL. I'd reply as only an Aussie can. The difference is the JC is 98% American and they don't always see things the same way.And yes it does annoy when people don't take the hint and back off.

Soneil, the major problem between here and the other forums on the JC is simple. On the "FF area" we can say Jerk, we can say "Spider what the bloody hell are you thinking" etc and that's fine but do that on the other boards and you will get banned/warned because it's flamming, trolling etc.

On this board and in the Aussie/Kiwi area we know names and have an understanding of what people mean. On the JC it's between you and 50,000+ others that don't understand you and have a constant need to prove something(which is why I hate stars etc)

That's also probbaly why I couldn't understand why people had such a problem with stars. I think the reasons for given for getting rid of them never really applied to these forums. They were good here, but apparently not elsewhere. Shame we had to lose them for the sake of problems in the other forums.

Mutley- I didn't actually call him a jerk in that thread, I gave him a choice, either he was being one or he missed the point, his choice.

It is, to a degree I'll admit sometimes when it was obvious a person was new and was trying hard to fit in the quick fix was "Your new etc" but after many crashes and people changing names a "Newbie" was not really the correct image.

Best example: I posted something, someone else disagreed not in a bad way just a difference of opinion no harm was done on either side until the person said-"your new here what do you know" I let it slide(not worth the problem) however the point is-I wasn't new and at the time had been around much longer than this other person.
I'm still to hear of one good reason for keeping titles or stars.

Lots of people liked them and miss them. That in itself is a good reason. I seriously don't think that removing them will or has made an ounce of difference to the amount of junk posts. If anything, I've actually seen an increase lately.

That will always happen Soneil-but at least the competition will eventually end.

Sith, I believe the words "Or your a Jerk" was used in one of your replies after you implied he may not understand. The problem was the fact you named someone and said the word-thus implied he was one, JC rules not mine, way to complicated if you ask me, which is why the place is so hard to follow.

But heck other stuff I've seen of yours is very good view this whole thing as water of a ducks back.:)

I just wish somebody would sit me down, and very slowly, explain to me why these multitudes of people feel it's absolutely essential to know everything that's going to happen in a movie before it's even begun principal photography. That's bad enough as far as I'm concerned; what's worse is that these multitudes also feel an irresistable compulsion to impart this ill-gotten knowledge to anyone who will give them a moment of their time!

My life's goal is to make movies; but, if you're gonna know everything that's going to happen in my movies before they reach the cinemas, why the hell should I bother? It's bad enough that the public at large will likely give my movies a miss in favor of watching Adam Sandler pick his nose for 90 minutes, but the remaining populace will do the same because the spoiler epidemic has rendered the movie-going process pointless!

    I know nothing, yet!

As this is one of the very few forums I check daily just keep it out of here. Feel free to spread it wide in the JC forum but not in FanForce Australia. End of story!

    Thank You, come again!! :)

    That's it guys, take a stand! *G*

SK and GoS just earned lifetime free passes to all my movies!

At least until I sell out.

That's one of the many things I like about the fanforce forums. I haven't seen any spoilers here. I haven't seen arguments or name-calling here (apart from a few less than serious instances which really don't count). Just a very different atmosphere from the other forums. I've looked into most of the other forums and contributed to some and I'm happy enough to stay here.

GoS makes note to herself: Must try harder to annoy Soneil....... J/K
Yeah this area is still better than the JC.

Thanks Pinback-don't worry if they sell out I'll find a way to sneak in when no-one is looking. ;-)

Like others I'm quite happy to keep this place spoiler free the only thing I know is some of the cast members and I'd like to keep it that way...

GoS, I'm not worried about my movies selling out, I meant until I sell out, and start directing Schwarzenneger vehicles, or soft-core erotic thrillers starring former "Dawson's Creak" cast members...

Remain true to your art. But if you do "sell out" and make action movies with no story and no acting I'll still show up just to have a laugh, as for soft porn--nope not the slightest bit interested elevator music annoys me LOL

No, no elevator muzak in my soft-core flicks, whenever the male and female leads get down, they'll do it to the sexy sounds of the accordion! Yeahhhhh, baby!

As long as the accordion's playing a good polka. Scenes like that need rhythm.
