Circle is the only way to eat them.

If I have to choose, circle. Either is good, though :)

If I'm going to have a waffle, it's got to be a circle.

Has to be SQUARE...if only to differentiate from the disgusting pancake all the more!

There is a fantastic efficiency to the square waffle...not to mention the fact that it is square usually means it comes from a large waffle iron, capable of issuing forth more waffles for immediate consumption, as opposed to the lowly round, single iron.

It has also been scientifically proven by me that square waffles are far less prone to "slipping" on your plate, through the various confectionery condiments of choice. The sharp edges, particularly at the corners, grab the plate...where round waffles slide like an ice skate on butter and sugar.

Additionally, square waffles provides for perfect uniformity of cut. Round waffles would only provide such if you cut them in a pie-like fashion...and who ever heard of such a thing, honestly?

Finally...if you enjoy a sausage wrapped in a waffle coat (not that pancake-entombed version on a stick), you will certainly want square as to provide a perfect wrap...not an obese-taco looking failure.

    SQUARE!

yummy blueberry eggos...I am getting hungry.
I can get round waffles easier then square (don't have a waffle iron :_| )
I love both...and dislike pancakes (no pockets for blueberries, strawberries or syrup...so wrong)

As a bi-waffle eater, each type of waffle makes me happy.

Circle waffles. That's the way my waffle iron is shaped. But just in case I want to go the other way, I do have square plates.

If we had waffles shaped like people, would we bite the heads off first.

    The Waffle And Syrup Theorem

Square waffles = more pockets for syrup -> Square is superior.

I've been making my grandmother's signature Buttermilk Waffles from scratch for over thirty-years now. I use both a circled and square Belgium waffle iron and everyone will wait for the circle waffle. [face_dancing]
Country butter, buttermilk and eggs are a must and "Log Cabin" or maple syrup make the difference also.=P~

This reminds me of the rationale behind round tea bags.
