Star Wars Trivia World Championship

I am happy to announce that Celebration V will be hosting the first ever Star Wars World Championship Trivia Contest. This multi-day event will be one of the highlights at Celebration V. The contest will have Star Wars celebrities participating in the fun and fabulous Star Wars prizes for the runner ups and the overall winner will be crowned "Star Wars Trivia World Champion," recognized by Lucasfilm. So brush-up on your Star Wars knowledge and get ready for the biggest trivia contest in the Galaxy.

Also, are you allowed to say any of the criteria in Contest Questions? Like will it include films and EU, just films and "higher canon", real world aspects like production stories, or just fictional elements? Also, are you allowed to say any general times for each day of the contest, and are there a limit to a number of entrants? Is it single or double elimination? How is order determined in people who answer questions? While I want to participate no matter what if I can, there are a lot of unanswered questions.

 

The contest will feature questions from all of Star Wars, this means EU, Clone Wars and behind the scenes, but mostly from the films.
As it stands right now, the contest will have three games: two games Thursday afternoon and one Sunday afternoon. This is subject to change, but will most probably be at these times.
the winner from each of these games will compete after the third game to determine the World Champion
There are no limits to the number of contestants.
The game is a process of elimination, we will weed out contestants until there is only one left.

Glad it's mostly from the films, I'm horrible at EU (and Clone Wars truth be told!).

It's official, the prizes are coming from Skywakler Ranch, the winner will be recognized by Lucasfilm as World Champion and we have a logo:

So what will the winners be getting? trophies? prizes?

 

The Prizes will be coming directly from Lucasfilm, and will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for each of the three games.

Is this just for the Movies, or all of star wars

 

If you win the first round on Thursday, do you compete in later rounds (Thursday and Sunday) or are each of the three rounds independent of each other?

 

The three rounds are indepenent, and there will be prizes for the top three winners in each round. However, along with winning a 1st place prize, the winners of each round will go on to the final round on Sunday. There will be only 3 slots in that final game, for three seperat winners. I hope this helps.

 

Something I've been wondering about since I looked at the schedule more closely is the Sunday game. It seems like the winner from the Sunday game will have to compete against the two Thursday winners without any break whatsoever...not sure how I feel about that. Drawing upon all of this knowledge is exhausting.
