I need to double check my social calendar to see if that weekend will work for me or not. If it does, I wouldn't mind doing it at my place. When we discussed last night, Shewski noted he probably wouldn't be able to do it at his place, since he'd be living with his new wife, and she might not dig it so much. That wasn't a definite, though I believe it was a "most likely."

When I check over things, I'll get back to you folks and let you know what's up with my availability.

Yeah, I figure a wife who likes to go to bed early + paper thin walls + raucous poker fun = me in the doghouse already =)

Does anyone else who is interested have a place we can do that while Brian figures out his calendar?

No problem for me! I'm off the crutches and only slightly using my cane. I'm there! Ah, stink! that's a Friday night. I may not be able to. I'll have to check. Okay I checked. (quick huh?) I'm good to go. By that time anyway, I should be in even better health.

Terry, does a bus come out your way? I would need to take one from work to get to you, otherwise I'd have to meet Em and she'd have to take me there. Unless you can meet me in the 'Rox. LMK.

If I come I can pick you up in Oakland but probably wouldn't be able to ride you back home.

 

We've got a venue, we've got a date.... so I'm going to edit the first post for details from everyone so we can determine what else is needed to get this off the ground!

Who's said they may come:

Brian, Zero, Josh, Greencat, Stina-Cri

Supplies- Sal can bring poker chips... we'll want 100 or so (varying values) for everyone there, so let us know if we need to get more chips. If Terry needs others to bring good decks of cards, he can let us know.

Everyone Else- Be a pal and bring some food/drink for our host! Post what you will bring.

How is 7:30 pm for everyone? Sal I could pick you up in the Rocks probably. Although there is a bus that let's off right on my street I think it's the 21D Kenmawr, though I would have to look.

I have a couple of new decks of cards somewhere around here so that is covered. If not I can always buy them. I'll get a couple of bottle of pop, what kind does everyone like? How many chairs am I gonna need?

I haven't yet set plans for the 23rd, so I'll be tentatively in. I'd very much like to play with you guys, as I haven't played poker (or any card games for that matter) in quite some time.

Does everyone play the hand at once, or do we play 2 per hand like they seem to do on tv?

 

Fluke, I'm not too sure what you mean, probably since I've not watched it on TV too much. Everyone plays in the hand, one at a time around the table until they fold or call a bet. Does that help.

Ok, just checking. I think on tv they do a lot of one on one hands.

 

The reason it looks like that is because people fold. So are we a go? I need to borrow some chairs from my grandfather so I would like to know?
