Martha pointed at a vidscreen at the top of the bridge. ?What is that?? She asked. ?Sorry to interrupt, Jakys, but isn?t that the Majestic. What is going on?? She asked. Joseph realised that something was wrong, and switched the vid screen to full view.

IC: Corporal Jones
Aboard the Majestic

Jones raced out of the elevator, and onto the bridge of the ship, ahead of his men. He had reached no more than ten metres into the ship, when he was halted by a blast door. He swore violently, and grabbed a grenade, and placed it on the door, before retreating back to the elevator, and pressed the detonator. The grenade let out an EMP blast, which had the effect of raising the blast door. Jones was rewarded with a hiss of air. The first atmosphere they had found on the ship, and took off his helmet. He smiled at his men, and gestured at them to take their helmets off. He walked over to the Commander?s chair, and looked at the logs. He began to read, when he felt something on his cheek. He moved a hand up to wipe it off, and recoiled when he realised it was blood. He turned to face his men, and they began to scream. One man ran over to the edge of the bridge, blood streaming down his face, matting the blood. He activated the video feed to his Captain, but said nothing, his mouth was full of blood. He moved the camera around, filming the scene on the bridge ? men dropping down dead. He hit the transmit button, before falling down, with his last strength he edged himself forward, and hit a button on the navigator?s panel. The last thing that Jones saw was the lines on the viewport stretch into nothingness, as the Majestic jumped to regions unknown.

(ooc: Sithy, it was supposed to be a well-kept secret that Arsix was a droid. I suppose it's partially my fault for not giving you a pseudonym or anything to work with. Oh well, we'll work around it)

Safehouse of the Bloody Cogs; Nar Shadaa

Arsix carefully realligned the holo-model that he used in place of his real likeness. Because of the careful attention Arsix could afford to pay to the model, it seemed, if you could get a clear enough frame through the artificial interference, to age like a truly organic human. A painstaking effort, but worth it to prevent links between the Bloody Cogs and the DIL from being found.

A comm beeped, and Arsix signaled for a voice-only transmission, since his holo-model was not perfectly aged for the day.

?So, Arsix. We have your goods. Where do you want them?? Nick said, across a secure comm channel. ?More importantly, when do we get paid?"

The captain of the Insanity. Clearly skill did not translate to tact. No matter how secure the channel was, Arsix was always uneasy when someone other than his counterpart W-3PO referred to him by his droid designation. His organic employees were instructed to refer to him by the pseudonym Kanner Dodd. It was an accident that Nick even knew the name, and one that had been avoided since.

Luckily, he did not have to age his simulated voice as often. The gravelly voice of a male human who sounded like he had a fondness for T'bac and Corellian liquers -albeit, not, himself, a Corellian- responded, "Ah, always to the point, Nick. Bring it here, pad 340-A8. I'll have men in Cog colors meet you there, although, for security reasons, they won't be obvious about it. They'll get you and your cargo into the safehouse so we can negotiate payment."

Arsix commed a few of his gang's members who were reported as idle, "Meet the Insanity at pad 340-A8. Escort their captain and their cargo to the Safehouse. Any of the crew that wants to tag along is welcome to. Once they're inside, lock them up. As usual, don't be stupid; don't give them a reason to think they're on their way to anything other than a big fat paycheck."

Knowing that the money was on its way, Arsix sent out the message to the usual suspects in the department of bounties. One went out to the Bounty Hunters Guild. Others to the important characters at the major Nar Shadaa cantinas.

Bounty Notice: 500 Credits to anyone with verifiable information about the being known as the Shadow. Present yourself to anyone in Bloody Cogs colors for passage to their safehouse to collect.

IC: Marric Renar

?Sir ? it appears to be a... Its? a CIS Droid Frigate Sir, with interdiction ability. Scans show we?re in the middle of hundreds of droid ships. They seem... They?re inactive. Orders sir??

"Are all of them frigates or capital ships?" Marric replied. Meanwhile under the surface the real Marric still fought. His first instinct was to inform the Anaxes Command, perhaps these ships were like some form of droid ship katana fleet. If their technology was updated they would be a very potent force. The drone Marric on the other hand, wanted nothing more then to tell the Ssi-Ruuk.

The two different Marric's again fought for control of the body, the clash happening quickly enough that by the time the loyalty module responded, it couldn't differentiate between the two wrestling minds. This error would cause Polinka's device, if he should glance at it, to flash yellow rather then green. The module chose the one its odds calculation thought to be the right one and suppressed it. Polinka's device flashed back to green.

It chose wrong.

Shock fell on the real Marric as he found himself in the position of control, the shock delaying him a second. Marric raised a hand in front of him, manipulating the synthetic hand. His new, faster mind, or circuits, brought up his body's schematics. He thought he might have found a way to turn off the loyalty module for good, problem was then he would have to fight hard the keep control away from the drone.

A million ideas of what he wanted to do flooded his mind. At the same time, he would have to keep the drone Polinka from getting to suspicious. But at least he could do something
now.He had to do better then that, Polinka had murdered two of his crew, albiet not the real Polinka. He searched his mission and information files to find out how many of his crew had been enteched.

Nick replayed the message in his head. It seemed something was wrong with it, but he couldn?t think what. He ensured that Jesse had the grenades this time, just in case. Best to be covered in case of any eventuality, Nick figured.

Nick activated one of the holo-cams he had had placed around the landing pad by a bribed official many years ago, and could see three men standing around in Cog colours. He smiled and spoke over his shoulder at Johnny. ?Bring her down.? He said, and as soon as the ship had docked, Nick was striding down the landing ramp, Iveta-Nay and Jesse in tow. Johnny stayed, as always, with the ship.

Seran noted the answer to the question ? a positive, when he noticed something... different. It seemed that Marric was rebelling again. He pushed down the button on his arm, harder this time. It seemed to work, at first, but as soon as Seran had covertly closed the panel, he could sense Marric taking control. It seemed the forced reversion had done something to the droid Marric?s circuits ? more to the point, his loyalty module. And if it had happened to Marric, why would it not work for him? Seran thought. The loyalty module clamped down on the thought immediately, but a tiny hope snuck through.

Seran leached onto the hope, foucsing on it. It gave him strength. And willpower. ?Captain.? He said. ?I have the need to speak with you in private. I have some vital information regarding the fleet. Please follow me.? Seran said, the real Seran. It took all his willpower to say it, and knowing that Marric would not trust him, threw a wink. Seran hoped that Marric would realise what was going on, before the loyalty module pressed down once more.

Marric, the real marric who was now in control, turned to Polinka he saw the wink but wasn't entirely sure what it ment. At the moment he was worrying that the drone Polinka had found out. However he couldn't keep him suspicious. "Very well, but it must be quick." He turned to the sensor officer before leaving to the ready room saying, "Run a full passive sensor sweep. Limit active sensors for the moment, in the event that they might activate them which I find unlikely, but no need to take chances."

He followed Polinka into the ready room before turning and saying, "Yes?"

[i]Nooooo![/i] Seran screamed inside, as the words spilled out. [i]Stop. I am in control. I am in control. I am in control.[/i] Seran spun the words over and over in his head, before he grabbed his side-arm, and pointed it at his temple. He fired. Seran was gone. His struggle was ended. He was at peace. Before he let go, however, Seran had just enough in him to send one last short burst of static to Marric.

Marric pondered how he could avoid this without giving himself away to the drone Polinka as Polinka suddenly jerked, one arm moving seemingly free of the drone's control which drew his sidearm and shot himself. The drone body toppled to the ground and Polinka, the real Polinka, said something.

Marric turned and practically stormed onto the bridge. He was going to end this. No more, he would let no more of his crew be enteched. The strange bioship was in the all but unused auxialery hanagar and the section for its supply rooms and the imediate hall outside was number seventeen. The tone and will thrust into his voice suggested their was a war going on and the ship was in the middle of the battle.

"Lockdown section seventeen. All passageways and blast doors even ducts I want sealed off imeadietly! Shut down the auxialery hangar's magcon field, vent everything in the hangar to space! Weapons, stand by to destroy any debris vented from the hangar! Now! Actions first answers, and there will be some, later!"

The officer took one look at the fur rippling across his captains face before deciding that perhaps he should stop making suggestions and just put the transmission up. Which he did.

Jakys was surprised by how unbelievably loud the silence on the bridge was as the transmission finished playing. And for a few moments he found himself unable to muster the strength to break it. Finally he managed to get his mouth working, ?Track the vector,? he repeated. ?I still want to know where it might be heading so we can put a warning out. Did the team report anything else before their heroic sacrifice??

?Tell the techs to take as long as they need. I?d rather them take 10 hours to patch this together and make sure they?re doing it right than have it ready in 3 and blow up when we activate it.? He paused as he glanced over the data again.
?I think we need to take a break XO, put half the techs on hyperdrive duty and get the rest of them into their bunks. Same goes for the active duty crew. Half on, half off, they need some rest before we try this. Have the techs let us know when they?re ready.?

Well ? the good news is the writers block is gone . The other good news is that I did not die or break anything on holiday. I also managed to get a lot of skiing done, and some skidoing (At 100 kph!). Anyway... On with the update.

Robert looked at Marric, questioningly, before shrugging, and giving the order. Moments later the contents of the auxiliary hangar flew out into space. Roberts watched with interest as he saw the insides of the hangar flying past. One thing in particular caught his attention ? a huge metal loading crane. He watched it fly past, and hit one of the droid ships. Almost immediately, the ship began to light up. Another piece of debris hit the ship, or would have. A turbolaser blast disintegrated the debris before it could make contact.
Roberts watched this in horror, and turned to look down at his sensor board. It was lit up in red. ?Red alert!? He shouted. ?The droid ships! They?re online. Evasive Action! Captain! Orders??

Car?das turned his hand over, and running his index finger over the tattoo there, spoke. ?The mark is... well... it?s like I said. A mark of willing servitude. It shows that not only am I loyal, but that I serve who I serve out of choice. This mark proves that I can be trusted, tells the people that I am the best. That I am part of the EIS. The Elite Intelligence Service. A sub group of the Sith.?

Dye passed Draeks the long blaster, and shouted at him. ?Wait for the first explosion!? He ran down the slope ahead of him, Dye following, heading for the power plant. He stopped at the bottom of the hill, and signalled for Oct to wait, before chucking him a bandolier of dets. Dye, meanwhile, had reached the end of the path, and the first of the buildings in the street. He looked left and right, before climbing on to the roof of one of the buildings. From here he slowly made his way to the power plant, avoiding any unwanted attention from the Ssi-Ruuk in the square. Dye soon reached the power plant, and had made his way inside. It was eerily empty, there were only shadows, and silhouettes. He approached one of the walkways, and winced as he heard the clank of his armour against the iron floor. Swearing under his breath, Dye slowed down, ensuring to minimilise his footsteps. After a few minutes, Dye had reached one of the Generators. He was about to place the explosive on the generator, when he heard a familiar *snap-hiss* noise, as the area was simultaneously illuminated in blue.

Dye froze, flicking his eyes to the top corner of his helmet and activating the holo-feed, before turning around, to see a Wookie, and a female Human. Both of whom were holding lightsabers, both of which were pointed at his chest. Dye suddenly realised that the planning, the rescue, had all been for nothing. He had been put a pawn in a greater game. He did not know who was fighting outside, but it was obviously not Jaina Solo or Lowbacca. They stood in front of him. "Drop them!" Draeks? concern for the two commandos, which had begun to build as soon as they left on their insane mission, took a sharp jump when the explosions didn?t go off as planned. He started counting up from when they should have gone off.
One minute? He kept his rifle targeted on the swirling melee between the two Jedi, carefully keeping them within his scope.
One minute, thirty seconds? The seasoned commando took his eye off the scope for a moment to scan the area around him, the quickly re-targeted.
Two minutes? Still no sign of either commandos presence. Draeks was starting to get a horrible feeling about where this was going.
Two minutes, thirteen seconds? BOOOM!!!

For a moment Draeks? finger tightened on the trigger, but even before the mushroom cloud from the explosion had reached it?s peak he placed his finger outside the guard. There should have been more than just the one explosion. For only the one to go off, and for it to be this late, something must have gone wrong. He quickly found himself another vantage point, this one overlooking his original position and waited for Oct and Dye to return.

Finally he called up the info on the Jedi and ACF, settling in to read everything the Shadow knew about them.

On the whole Girov though it was a fairly good plan. If you discounted the fact that a Dark Jedi could probably read their minds and work out what they were planning before they had any sort of chance to carry it out.
So it came as some surprise to Girov when the rocks around them trembled for a moment before hurtling up into the sky in supreme defiance of the laws of gravity. For a brief second he actually allowed himself to believe their surrender had been taken seriously. Then he looked up and saw the pile of rocks begin to follow the laws of gravity again. ?What goes up?? he muttered. Before grabbing a pair of stunned soldier and pushing them forward.
