Due primarily to the nearly 10 year (2005-2015) hiatus between films? Or some other reasons...

Not sure. There will probably be some fancy new forum software, plus the changing of the SWUniverse as we know it, so there's a bunch of things that could change how the boards look and the communities within them.
One thing I can see (potentially) happening is Alternate Universes. I can see the EU after ROTJ being changed into an AU. Eventually there would probably have to be boards for these AUs.

I can recall for me personally that when I have liked something that has mostly only had a niche' audience, and it has become a part of popular culture, it is usually a bit of a painful transition. The EU may be in for big changes if a lot of its material becomes part of the coming films???

AU would really Expand things...:) Is some of that already in the works?

It's definitely going to get busier. We can barely keep up with the BMC now... hopefully it doesn't get too much busier. :p

I'm not sure. But if they're going to be changing the timeline I doubt they'll stop selling EU novels. Of course I'm spoiler free so I have no idea what's going on.

Unrecognizable? I doubt it. But yeah I am sure there will be numerous changes as things continue on.

It wasn't busier here back in 2005 during the height of ROTS's popularity?

    Neither was I.

I would presume it was though, as one has to remember (at the time) ROTS was the last SW movie ever going to be made. Since Lucas was making it fairly clear he had no interest in the ST. At the time.

It was pretty busy as I remember, but I don't think there were 500+ people online like there has been recently.

ETA I'd say that there was an average of 15,000-17,000 posts a day. Not sure how many there are currently.

ETA2: I was only around for a spell in late 2005.

In '03 it was crazy busy! :D We had a good three chat threads going all at the same time with plenty of people to boot.

    Edit: Make that four. :p

I expect the ST forums and (maybe) SWC will be like that when Ep 7 comes out. The EUC...that really depends on how much EU is included in the movies doesn't it?

The EUC will continue going strong, I think.

How did you keep up? :p

That I don't doubt. I was more talking about it going stronger. Everyone here right now has loved the EU for at least some time. Joe being the notable exception to the rule :p

But if the EU turns into an AU, how many new people who jump in for the Sequels will come here? That's what I meant.

The EUC activity will depend greatly on how much of the EU is overwritten I think. :p

Well, one was for Imps. As I'm not a big fan I didn't go in there much. One was the Prancing Bantha and I loved it so much. There was Valyn's Hangar. Most people didn't visit because it was based around a very VERY small group of people but I thought it was fun. There was also the NUS and that was for new EUCers. There was, of course, the BMC. Sooo... I guess there was five actually. :p It was sooo fun but you still had oppm. :p

Considering the BMC is a super-sized TARDIS apparently, you can just make a room :p
