Three Caped Crusader-related developments today:

1. The title of the next Batman film was revealed.

2. The Riddler will officially NOT be in Batman 3.

3. Two-Face is coming back?!

Is "No Riddler" really news? I seem to recall Nolan saying that awhile ago.

 

Well... It's "official" this time around.

I guess news item #2 should've went to Two-Face being alive then..

 

Yeah, that's probably the one that struck me the most. Especially after all that debating and the hyper-analysis of Nolan's "If they're not dead in the comics they're not dead in my films" and whether or not that was true because Ra's Al Ghul and yadda yadda.

Still, more Aaron Eckhart is always a good thing.

 

Aaron Eckhart commented on Harvey Dent's return shortly after The Dark Knight:

Beaks: And now the obligatory question: can you conceive of any way in which you might be back in--
Aaron Eckhart: (Laughs) No.
Beaks: Not a chance?
Eckhart: No. I'm dead. I couldn't even get the words out of my mouth. "Hey, Chris, am I--?" "No. You're dead. You're dead."
Beaks: Because there has been a discussion amongst some fans about how he's never seen in the coffin.
Eckhart: Well, it'd be easier than anything to bring him back, but... it's like Chris said on the tour. He wasn't thinking about the next movie when he made [THE DARK KNIGHT].

Nolan's personally casting "babes" (sic) for a new character.

Catwoman? Poison Ivy? Harley Quinn? Oracle? Random bat-girlfriend #5? Your call!

 

Assuming Two-Face won't be the main villain in TDKR, I'm hoping The Black Mask will be in the film (though I prefer Bane and Azrael...but whatever)

Bane and Poison Ivy are best avoided, lest anyone start remembering that one movie that never happened. I wouldn't mind Hugo Strange, myself.

 

This title sucks, and I can't find any sources that say Two-Face is returning, I think you're crazy. And your lazily making us look up our own sources just makes it seem like you're making stuff up. I'M ANGRY!!!

 

Nolan just said some characters would be returning, that's all.

 

He said some would return and there would be new characters, but he's been specifically vague.

I had hoped the title would be something different again. Although what we've go is satisfactory, I have an image of the studio suits telling Nolan he needs to connect the dots a little more for marketing purposes. However, if we get that in exchange for avoiding the hateful vision of Batman in 3D, then it's all good.

 

This title sucks.

Are we sure Two-Face is confirmed? I didn't read anything about that in the news articles.
