I just listened to "Band on the Run" on the way home from work tonight and thought of the show. :) Cuz Kenny and I heard "Eight Days a Week" while getting happy hour dinner and drinks. "Holiday" is a good one! And no, I cannot believe her first album is 30 years old. [face_not_talking]

My favorite part of BOTR is the second section, "If I ever get out of here...". That really rocks, especially in some of the live versions.

Yup same here. I finally got around to putting together my traditional playlist of the Sir Paul concert setlist I saw with you. Been listening to it since last night.

The music to X-Men: First Class is one of those soundtracks that might not be the best to listen to on its own, but it just works brilliantly in the film. The scene when Erik succeeds in lifting the submarine while the X-Jet is hovering above the water, and the young recruits go into their first battle gets me pumped each time because of that soundtrack. However, the first track on the official soundtrack, named First Class, I find to be good to liten to on its own as well.

    Link.

It's an okay score; I like X2's the best, personally.

Welcome to the Tavern. Our social thread. Here we can hang out and be social without discussing music. Even though we all love it. ;) :p

Aw geez. Mods modding mods. How perverse.

I suppose I could log in with one of my old socks for Halloween, but it probably didn't survive the transfer. I wonder if I could still find The Modfather...

Anybody listen to Brian Tyler's work? Or Two Steps from Hell? I love both. Been listening to the Skyworld album again. Great stuff.

I love Tyler's Marvel stuff. These 2 are probably my favorites of his:

I enjoy his Marvel tracks, but I feel like some of his best work was Children of Dune. Here's a video with clips from different songs on the soundtrack:

It's slow but I enjoyed it. You might want to watch Dune before you watch Children of Dune though. It would help to know the characters and the terms they're using. It aired as a mini series on SciFi, back when it actually had some quality science fiction shows such as: Stargate SG-1, Battlestar Galactica, etc.
