    So since there isnt one yet, I decided to create a Beatles thread! [face_dancing]

    These four young lads from Liverpool called the Beatles were nothing less than a cultural atom bomb.

    [image=http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b257/Grandadmgrant/john.jpg] [image=http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b257/Grandadmgrant/paul.jpg]
    [image=http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b257/Grandadmgrant/george.jpg] [image=http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b257/Grandadmgrant/ringo.jpg]

    John, Paul, George and Ringo FTW!

    Anyway, this thread is open to all to discuss the Beatles. :)

    Oh, and Im so watching their anthology DVD-set right now. (yes, get jealous now Maria) :cool:

    I must shamefully admit that I know very little about their later solo careers... [face_blush] Apart from the song Imagine, and a couple of George's songs which I know thanks to my Concert for George DVD. But I plan to get my hands on some of their solo albums soon.

    Nowhere Man > all other songs.

    Why? Because it sums up so many of us.

    Its so sad to go to Central Park and see the John Lennon Memorial, Strawberry Fields. You just get a sense of peace in the midst of a busy city.

    Imagine is amazing, it's John's true masterpiece.

    The thing I love about George, though, is that he managed to take a message as strong and real as John's, and presented it with music as well composed and produced as anything McCartney did.

    Nope, sorry... My favourite solo Beatle songs are Imagine and All Things Must Pass. And the Pirate Song! :cool: [face_dancing]

    As for the actual Beatles songs, I have several top-favourites. But my "heart song", one that has a special place in my heart, is Across the Universe. I love the lyrics, because they seem so fitting to me. Especially the second verse and the refrain. But my other favourite songs are (in roughly this order):

    1. Yesterday
    2. Here Comes The Sun
    3. Let It Be
    4. The Long And Winding Road
    5. I Saw Her Standing There
    6. I Am The Walrus
    7. Something
    8. While My Guitar Gently Weeps
    9. A Day In The Life
    10. All You Need Is Love
    11. Rain
    12. Tomorrow Never Knows

    Oh, yes, definitely. And Eric Clapton's AMAZING solo in While My Guitar Gently Weeps. The whole concert was so beautiful and full of emotions.
