Sac, CA The trip to the Mecca of all Star Wars collecting... Sansweet's Collection trip

Ok people. I just got word from the man himself, Steve Sansweet. We are cleared to view his collection on either the 13th or 27th of February. It is a Sunday, and those days work best for him. If not, we have to wait until after Ep III comes out because he told me he was going to be a "bit busy"

So, we need to figure out what day we are going ASAP so I can contact Steve with the date.

So, anyone have preferences? I personally would like to go earlier than later.

So, what does everyone else think?

 

13th works for me....I'll work it out one way or the other...come heck or high water.

*packs everything she owns into a U-Haul and drives up to Sac tonight. Living out of same U-Haul until she finds a home, thus being able to go to Steve Sansweet's AND WonderCon!*

 

I feel the same way Bridge, especially since I need to talk face to face with Mary re: Line Stuff.

I wish I could be there, but I just don't see how I can swing it then.

 

Come on you two. You can work it out, drive up together the day before, Take the tour. Drive home.

Feb is Rogue month. The tour, Wonder-con, plus a few other suprises I'm sure.

 

The 13 is fine for me, I should be free, and my 25th birthday is on the 11th.

 

Ok ... it looks like the general consensus is the 13th of February.

I will email Steve today and tell him the 13th of Februray is good for us as well.

Now I need everyone who is interested in gowing to RSVP here, where everyone else can see, before next Friday - 1-21-05. No exceptions to the rule. If you can't meet us to journey, then you can't go. This is a member of Lucasfilm we are going to see. And personally, Steve is an awesome guy! Tionne and I can vouch for that personally.

So, when I have all RSVPs in by next Friday, I will email Steve again and tell him how many people will be attending.

We will pick a place to meet up and caravan down together.



So now, I will be the first to RSVP - yes!! Sunday, February 13th, I will be there!

 

Boom baby Deadpool will be in the hizzzzy (uhh that's a YES) also our old pal Cat is going as well So I'm RSVPing for her as well.

I wont be bringing Henry, as much as he'd love it he's too young and too likely to damage something. Which is why this must go smoothly, so we can get another invite later when he's a little older.

Basically if you don't RSVP and don't meet up with the Rogue convoy...you ain't going. WE need to be on the ball. I know it sounds rough but we are too spread out over too many areas to do this on the fly.

Also We are working on getting this story covered on the web. I'd like to think the force.net would carry it for us, but I've got a few other sites in mind as well. (I'm the resident media whore I know)

This is Steve's place and he's being ultra cool by inviting us into his palace of SW. I can also vouch for the straight up coolness of this guy, He's very personable and loves to talk to the fans. Same goes for Mary as well.

And who knows we show ourselves as the kick arse group we are we might get invited to move Lucasfilm events.

KR, if you can manage it I would be willing to split gas money and drive up with you. I'd even drive in the Falcon's Escort (just slightly larger than the Red2D2). I have nothing to do really, just lack a place to stay unless I call in another favor from a Davis-student.

Edit after reading PM from LDV: If MJF can go maybe I will ride with her. This may work out. Now if only I can swing WonderCon and U2.

I work Saturdays. I am looking to move out and get a place with Lisa, which will probably happen right around that weekend, so it's really difficult for me to commit to anything right now. I REALLY want to be there for Wondercon and U@ though, especially since I know at least a half dozen of my line friends will be at the WC.

I am working at 27 too and is my Monday at work. I am only know one member in person from the JC who works with me, but nobody else. Someday I will go to one of those meetings.

 

This is shaping up very nicely.

No worries KR, I do hope you can make it to Wondercon, and Congrats on you and Lisa making that step. KR is now a weeble wobble...weebles wobble but they don't fall down.

FEBRUARY 13TH, 2PM SANSWEET'S HOUSE FOR A TOUR OF THE ULTIMATE STAR WARS COLLECTION

Mary Franklin will be joining us for the tour and lunch/early dinner afterward.

So now, I will need everyone RSVP'd by Friday.

Depending on how many people we have, we will caravan down together. We will meet in Davis and make the journey from there. I will have directions to Sansweet's place when we meet. I do not want to place his address on here for obvious reasons.

It's a wonder to behold. The tour was talked about, seemed real enough....but then slipped off into the abyss.

I don't see a problem with it Thrawn .... but you have to make sure you meet up with us on that day, in Davis.
