I wanted to do this for a while now...

A scene you thought was poorly written or directed.

    Maxium of three per member.

    (1) Jar Jar being farted on

Everything else is fine with me :D

Only THREE!!! Dang. Oh well here goes.

1."Are you an angel?" I shuddered just typing that.

2.Introduction of Jar Jar all the way to the part where they surface in the city in their "bongo" or whatever it's called.

3.Anakin accidently destroying the Trade Federation ship and saving they day.

Almost any other scene with Jake Lloyd also.

I like the Angel scene. It is very special to me in a deeply way.

    1) The jedi stampeding Shmi's house.
    2) Qui-Gon stands in the bongo, but says nothing.
    3) The scene where Queen Admidlia staring out the window and we can't feel for her pain. Since we haven't SEE HER PEOPLE suffering or dying.

COULD FUTURE POSTERS ALSO DESCRIBE HOW THEY WOULD FIX THE SCENE? (caps for emphasis)

    "I like the angel scene"

Whatever, but it's the stupidest line in the movie. I mean, no little kid is that stupid. And if he isn't stupid he must have been using a pick-up line on Padme, but he's like 10 so why would he do that? Stupidest line ever.

Angels in Star Wars aren't heavenly creatures. From what Anakin has learned from over hearing pilots and traders who pass through, Angels are simply beautiful creatures.

I would imagine Padme is the most beautifil person he's ever seen. It wasn't a pick-up line either.

I found it to a cute little scene myself.

    Stupidest line ever

I would like to argue against that with this:

Spider-Man: It's you who's out Gobby, out of you're mind

Nope, can't do it. Elijah Wood and other child actors made movies when they were that age and did excellent jobs. Even McCaully Culkin was an ok actor when he was little. Just look at the movie "The Good Son" and you'll see. Now that, is good child acting.

Yes, I know there are good child actors out there (I'm not saying Jake Lloyed isn't), but the fact of the matter is, there aren't many children below 15 that can act. Further more, not many can act well.

If you take the entire populace of acting, child actors below 15 only make up a small portion, and ones who give award worthy performances are even lower than that.

All in all, I think Jake Lloyd did a good job.

I pretty much hated every scene when Natalie Portman tries to act regal. That voice and stilted delivery is horrible (such as when she's talking in the senate meeting... ughh..) I used to think it was Portman's fault, but I've seen her in other things where she's actually quite good, and she's also okay when she's pretending to be the handmaiden, so I'm tempted to think it's Lucas' bad direction.

I thought that part between the opening crawl and the end credits was pretty rough.

Then why are you here? If you think the entire film was the worst, then why would you even waste your time in the TPM forum? And why this blatent trolling? The thread author said choose three specific scenes and how you would change them. Your generic bashing TPM posts are unneeded and against the TOS.

    Where is the moderator?

    1. Qui-Gon's explanation of midichlorians to Anakin on the landing platform - This explanation totally kills the films momentum. The scenes before it, the Queen telling Palpatine she's going back to Naboo and the Council telling Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan to go with her to protect her get the ball rolling, Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon arguing briefly on the platform, then HALT, time for science class.

    2. Battle Preparation - The search for the Gungans and their eventual alliance with the Naboo and the battle plan explanation also slow the film down. TPM spends too much time explaning things and the action doesn't flow naturally like in AOTC. Plus the alliance between the Naboo and Gungans doesn't have the impact it should, b/c Lucas doesn't really stress the racial hostility between them.

Yup- the midichlorian speech is just poorly done. Maybe it's because it's the first Star Wars scene filmed for 16 years or whatever, but I've seen six year olds telling me that Santa is real that were more convincing than either actor in that one.

Another one of my favorite scenes was Qui-Gon talking to Anakin. It was calm, peacfull moment, before a lot of fast action.
    Qui-Gon was mentoring Anakin.
Not just a science lesson, the boy asked a question.

Please don't take offense but I really don't think this is a fair thread.

TPM above all other SW movies has taken a beating over the past 3 years, and I think this thread is just another way to degrade the film.

Why not do the worst scenes for each individual film? :)

People often complain TPM had poor writing I was only trying to pin down pacific areas.

Oh, TPM is an average film and a poor SW film.

I believe the word is specific, not pacific.

Anyone who has been on these boards since TPM premiered know ALL COMPLAINTS about the movie. Since you have such a hard opinion of TPM you should be aware of the problems your asking about.

Gusher/Basher Wars started because of complaints about TPM.

I really have to LOL [face_laugh] at your little jab of a sentence about TPM. Its your opinion, though.

I made no ''jabs'' it what I honestly belive.
There was some very very poor writing.
I don't think the media had anything to do with it.
