I want an entirely different score for the film. Williams' work from the 70s is iconic but its from a different time and era. I think leaving it on the hallowed ground is appropriate. Give us fans something new and epic. There are many great young composers out there. Might as well give them a chance to shine with some original work.

They should do what they did in Casino Royale and Star Trek. New themes for 90% of the movie. And then at the end, use the classic theme. That would be perfect.

Please say this isn't still true? Haven't these two done enough to desecrate existing universes? Can't we put a bullet into their heads? Or at least their careers?

Hmm, not sure if I like the look of his face for the character. But I'll wait to see more before judging.

I adore Henry Cavill (Charles Brandon on The Tudors) so, not ever having seen the original Superman movies, I'm kind of excited about this.

Probably Redbox level of excitement, since I don't want to pay $10 to stare at Cavill when The Tudors is on Netflix, but still :p

On a semi-related note, current rumor is Justice League's villain will be Darkseid, so maybe you'll see some hint of setup towards that in this film.

Still... JL is hitting after Avengers 2 in the same year. And Thanos is basically a copy of Darkseid, and will have at least 1 other film of setup via Guardians of the Galaxy...can't see that being a smart move. You'd think they'd want to distance themselves from that comparison and establish him more.

(and didn't we have a JL movie thread somewhere?)

Wow, that really captures the majesty, the awe, the hope of Superman.

Ugh Dardseid really? That feels like a major copy cat on Warner Bros. part. He's the DC version of Thanos. The two main bads are going to be too similar.

I hate this poster. Superman should be a completely different vibe than Batman and this poster definitely does not represent that.

I'm not sure the "man of stools" would be that great in slow motion. I'd probably go without the popcorn.

I want to get excited for this film. I really do. But everything I see makes me feel the opposite way. I'm honestly more excited for The Wolverine than I am for this one. It just doesn't feel uplifting. And I think the decision not to use John Williams score in any way is idiotic. That theme perfectly captures the majestic, timeless nature of Superman. While Batman and other heroes have had various themes, the Superman theme has remained one of the most recognizable and most used. Other attempts have paled in comparison. And I really do like Hans Zimmer's work but this would be like Star Wars without using any John Williams theme (and you can see how well that works by listening to the Clone Wars show :p)

Still, looking forward to seeing the trailer with the Hobbit. Hopefully I'll finally get excited after seeing the trailer.

Darkseid debuted in 1970, while Thanos debuted in 1973. So, if anything, Thanos is the Marvel version of Darkseid; his creator even admitted as such!

That's all well and good for comics sake but for the movies Marvel beat DC to the punch. A JL movie needs a different villain.
