I had just clicked to page 2 to up this thread when lo and behold I found the last thread on page 1 at the top of the screen! (Something had moved from the second page...)

Anyone think we may hear some Emperor's Theme in this trailer?

 

I'd bet on that and definately some crazy Duel of the Fates. Maybe a little Rebel Fanfare? That'd be cool.

(Too bad I'm not watching it...you all will have to let me know what music they choose!)

 

I...I know this is a long shot...but I think the trailer may start out with...the Force Theme!!

I've upadated the first post to reflect the music used in the new trailer.

 

I didnt real pay that much attention to the music cause the content was so good when I watch it after school on Hyperspace I will though,I was expecting a larger Imperial March though.

It was kind of hard to pay attention to the music since the trailer is so good, but I did like the Wampa Lair cue at the opening logos. I've always liked that music. Very creepy.

 

I don't know if the editors of the trailer just looked for a fitting musical sound, but I thought the use of the Battle of Endor II wss brilliant. This trailer is all about Palpy kicking butt, and that piece of music is both the height of his powers and his demise.

 

I was shocked when Duel of Fates or music fro AOTC didn't make it in, but I loved it all. I too wonder about the drums. Another member of the boards and I believe,don't tell me if I'm right of wrong, that its from the new soundtrack for ROTS.

 

I dont know about the drums being a part of it,they dont really make any music,I think they were there to give the trailer some flavor.

Ok. Here is the order of the music:

1. The Wampa's Lair
2. Carbon Freeze
3. Unknown drums
4. The Emporers Death
5. The Clash of Sabers

 

The music worked very well, I thought, aside from the aprupt edit from "The Emperor's Death" to "The Clash of Lightsabers."

As for the drum beats in the middle section of the trailer, I'd be willing to bet they were just created for the trailer and aren't actually from any film score or otherwise.

 

I haven't personally heard the trailer, but the first thing that comes to mind when this percussion is mentioned is "Zam the Assassin and The Chase Through Coruscant." Could that be it?

 

No, it's definitely nothing that's been heard in any previous SW movie.

Hey thats cool man. I used to do it myself for trailers but never posted. Mostly cause I hadn't joined the boards then. As for the druming, taking it from the trailer is what I had to do when I did this for the musice video "Across the Stars". Come the release of one of the trailers for my next film, I am going to falow the same music scheme for the teaser traier for ep3

I too love those unknown drums. They might be from some other movie that JW wrote the music for. I don't know which one that would be, though.
