[Udder madness]I can eat most dairy products, but I can't stand plain milk.

Chocolate milk is fine. Plain milk, though, makes me wanna hurl. I have no idea why.

I can't stand milk with any fat in it (1% is a percent too much), but I drink over a gallon of skim milk every week. I have a glass with almost every meal at home, and definitely after any dessert, chocolate, or spicy food. I know many people who don't drink milk, so I always thought I was the odd one out for actually enjoying it.

 

So basically you like drinking white-coloured water?


I used to drink semi-skimmed milk, but for the past few years I've been mostly drinking whole milk. Our milk is pretty good - definitely tastes better than the plastic-tasting milk they have in the UK...

 

two percent or whole milk but only with peanut butter sandwiches and dessert. Especially warm cookies and chocolate cake.
Other then that I am not a big fan of milk. Once in a blue moon I will drink it when its really cold by itself but most of the time not.

 

Same boat. But I have soy milk more often. Cheese is totally ok though. Maybe I love it too much to care?

 

This is all true of me, except I usually have 1% milk. 2% is okay, whole milk is too much. Skim is fine. But is also depends on the dairy. I'm one of those people who can taste the difference when it comes from different dairies. Alta Dena is my favorite.

 

It has a horrible aftertaste, and leaves my mouth feeling gross unless I rinse it out with water.

It's true that skim milk doesn't really taste like milk, but it's particularly refreshing with chocolate or other foods. Whole milk is too fatty for me. If I want to consume that much fat, I want it to be in solid form and taste better. I usually end up buying skim or 1% depending on my mood.

Despite all of their ridiculously delicious dairy products, the milk in France is surprisingly awful. This is because they use ultra-high temperature processing (ultra-pasteurization), which means that an unopened and unrefrigerated carton of milk can stay on the shelf for six months. It also destroys all the good flavor.

 

Oh god, I drink so much milk, I don't know how I'd live if I became lactose-intolerant. I'd probably still drink it anyways. It's my "comfort drink"

 

I have never been a milk drinker. But cheese? Cheese is my friend.
