    Glad it's not broken and I hope it feels better soon.

    We made a green banner with red and black shadowed letters spelling out "MERRY SITHMAS". It's got some blue snowflakes on it and I laminated it, so it should easily last through the parade. It's not a professional banner, but the price was right!

    I don't know how I did it, but the Sithmas sign is the width as the trailer. It MUST have been the Force! Dark or light side, I don't know or care, 'cause it worked!

    I hope this is okay with everyone!

    [image=http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w193/ieffphotoalbum/2008%20Events%20and%20Fun/2008-12-06%20VV%20Christmas%20Parade/sign002.jpg]

    I know it's on the wrong side of the trailer. It's parked too close to the fence and I wouldn't have been able to take a picture with it on the right side.

    Thanks Debbie!!

    I got another email from the parade coordinator. She sent the map of the line up area. I'm sure I did this the hard way, but I didn't know how else to do it. Since the map was sent as a pdf document and that was the only way I could save it, I printed it out, took a picture, uploaded it to photobucket and posted it here. It got the job done, but I'm not sure how efficient that was!

    Anyway, here it is:

    I AM SO UNHAPPY WITH THE TREE!!! Figured I'd better put the dard thing together before Saturday morning. Well, its skinny, wobbly, doesn't go all the way to the ground and looks awful to me! What does everyone else thing? Sonya? If we use it, we need to come up with some way to steady it as it webbles and wobbles. I'm off tomorrow, so I can go look for something else? If we use it, do you like the black balls on it? I only put a few.

    Tall, skinny and see-through: (click on the picture because it looks all fat and sassy otherwise)

    A little too much leg showing:

    [image=http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w193/ieffphotoalbum/2008%20Events%20and%20Fun/2008-12-06%20VV%20Christmas%20Parade/sign012.jpg]

    OOOhhhh, look! SHINY!!!

    Yep, I'm a little bit tired and it's time for me to put the camera away and go to bed. Fear not for the tree, as it's been safely hidden away in the extra bedroom with the door securely shut. If Vader doesn't rev up his lazer vision, it should be fine. (and, yes, he did knock it down)

    I think it looks fine. Even with the black dingle balls. The pic with Vader in the tree is great. Why is it that cats love anything with something like trees and such? The banner you did is great, too. Finally had a chance to get hold of Kevin. Had to leave him a e-mail to get everything done for this. Chrissy won't be able to come. She has to work. Bummer. I know it's the retail thing. She is bummed, but is fine with it. She still wants to participate in the exchange gift portion, so I will bring it.

    Wow! Great banner! =D=

    Poor tree! fake ones can be very tricky to set up. We always helped our old church decorate, and they had over EIGHT fake trees! 8-} But don't worry, it looks fine. I think it's so tall at the bottom to accomodate those large gifts that wouldn't otherwise fit under the tree. :rolleyes: That's marketing for you. Did we get a tree skirt? Maybe that would help.

    See you all tomorrow!

    Sonya, I have white butcher paper and a staple gun. If I have the time today, do you want me to cover the floor of the trailer with it? Also, do you want the back gate covered with paper? I'll be at work this morning and can probably get colored paper. It's the larger rolls of colored butcher paper. Also, what about a chair for Mark/Emperor. I've got a great hard-backed lawn type chair that leans slightly and has big arm rests. If it has a black or possibly red blanket thrown over it, I think it would be great for him.

    Give me a call later this morning.

    Hope you guys had a wonderful time yesterday!!!

    Wow Kari, you've been...busy o_O FAT and SASSY? [face_laugh] I think it looks fine, and yes, the balls look fine to me. It doesn't sound like it will support the Death Star though, does it? It's not very heavy at all (it's paper mache, after all) but if it's that floppy, it might be too much for it.

    Okay, so what if I bring some bricks that we can put on the base underneath the tree skirt? We can also get some fishing line, tie it to the top of the tree in several spots, run it down the length of the tree, and tape the ends of the line to the bottom? That might give the top some extra stability as well.

    I'd personally rather have some fake snow. I can pick some up at Big Lots today and bring it up tomorrow. Is that okay? If you want to cover the ramp with paper that's fine with me, either way is okay.

    We did have a good time yesterday, I lost my cell phone on the Matterhorn and I didn't realize it until we were in line at the French Market, so Darren kept on calling it until someone picked it up. It was sitting in the bottom of the bobsled, and the girl met Darren in the middle of the park. I was so relieved!!

    Wow! Now those are some details! Great work, Mike! :)

    Dad won't be able to tape the parade after all- he has a commitment to help a freind -but would it be all right if I took some video of the parade prep...more or less a mini-documentary? The shots and music are already planned out. Don't worry; I'm going to show the IEFF in as positive a light as possible.

    OUSTANDING RECONAISSANCE!!!! We will LD form the FOB at 0530 and conduct a Cordon and Knock at the suspected Insurgents house on Baka Laka Street... I Kid, :D Really AWESOME Work though, This will pay off big. So is it safe to say that if I park my truck there we will return to the same point? Better yet I'll take it to the end of the Parade route. This will make it easier on everyone. I was planning on leaving at 05:00 but it's 1 hour and 33 minutes according to Goggle, So it looks like I'll leave at 04:30 but hey, I'm used to early mornings EEERRRRRR.

    The Blazer is a pretty white (who knew... I thought it was tan) and I went over all the edges of the trailer with a broom and then a wet towel so nobody gets dirty and so any tape we use will stick. They're already connected, so I can't forget the trailer in the morning! [face_laugh]

    I'm working on a box for the base of the tree. It should make it a bit more sturdy.

    Mike, the stands look great! Thank you for making and decorating them!

    Carrie, bring the camera. Video before and after the parade would be great. This is supposed to be broadcast on TV, so maybe somebody will be able to tape it.

    Great pics, Kari!

    I'll post a compilation video as soon as I can. It's going to take a while to edit.
