We had to do this for Painter Class...this was completely done on computer

15 hours + Wacom tablet = THIS

Hope it looks good for yous guys.

Warning though, its 20 MB...so be patient...

Josh makes a good point. What are you doing spending so much time drawing a guy? Why not a half-naked chick? Wouldn't that make it more enjoyable?

And hey, some of the greatest artists in history have sculpted and drawn naked men.

at least Aragorn has clothes on!

Aragorn is cool and all but i far more respect Gimli and Sam...none braver in my mind.

I chose Aragorn for a variety of reasons...one is he's just so cool!

the other is look at his textures; leather, suede, linen, metal, scruffy beard, hair, blooded hand etc.

A half naked girl would have been interesting for sure...but Aragorn was challenging, VERY challenging!

See, that's my problem. I'll have an image like that in my head. I can see it clearly. Then, I try to put it down on paper, and it's horrible.

Where you looking at a template when you drew that? Or was it from imagination?

actually Jake what i had to do was basically have three layers.

The actual picture > A white layer > A drawing layer.

So I worked over top the actual picture kinda like tracing paper...

Butt this is what we had to do

Sometimes I find if you spend tim eon something lik ethis you can do something off the top of your head

Oh and just so you guys know...I used a wacom tablet...

it acts just like a pencil nd a mouse...its amazing

It makes me glad that you all really like it and that i am happy with it!

 

I have the exact same tablet!

And I can draw a stickman with it!! I didn't know you could draw real stuff with it too. Maybe mine is broken.

Actually it is a nice tablet if you have the patience to work with it. With a paint program that recognizes it you can do a variety of different strokes and just turn the pen part around and erase the mistakes.

I generally use it to touch up photos personally.

 

I used Corel Painter, John

 

I just leave the photo editing to someone else.....

 

Ah, I just saw a segment on TechTV about Corel Painter, and its cool to see what someone has done with it. Great work!

 

I can't see the Tif file, yet the Aragon painting is amazing.. good job.

I've been convinced to resurrect this thread and add my "latest project".

I did it last night after watching the Extended version of FotR. It's based on a few reference pics I found online and it took me a couple of hours to do. In case anyone's wondering, it's actually all done in regular pencil, but doesn't look it because everything got a little darker when I scanned it. Click on it because the width-height ratio is wrong here!

not bad. If I want to go into Fashion at all, I'll have to learn how to sketch... I can't draw people at all.
