Scimitar was observing his 'old friend' and could tell he has kept himself in a solid condition, his steps were heavy but were light at the same time, as if a great weight was lifted off his shoulders.

Rowan, now---he was something else entirely: a classic of his soon to be obsolete kind. He simply stood gazing calmly up at Scimitar, hands open, utterly relaxed, on his face only an expression of mild interest.

Scimitar derived a certain melancholy satisfaction---a pleasurably lonely contemplation of his own unrecognized greatness---from a brief reflection that Rowan would never understand how much thought and planning, how much work, Scimitar had invested in so hastily orchestrating his sham victory. Nor would he ever understand the artistry, the true mastery, that Scimitar would wield in his own defeat.

But thus was life. Sacrifices must be made, for the greater good.

There was a war on, after all.

He called upon the Force, gathering it to himself and wrapping himself within it. He breathed it in and held it whirling inside his heart, clenching down upon it until he could feel the spin of the galaxy around him.

Until he became the axis of the Universe.

This was the real power of the dark side, the power he had suspected even as a boy, had sought through his long life until Agrive Dur had shown him that it had been his all along. The dark side didn't bring him to the center of the universe. It made him the center.

He drew power into his innermost being until the Force itself existed only to serve his will.

Now the scene below subtly altered, though to the physical eye there was no change. Powered by the dark side, Scimitar's perception took the measure of the man before him with exhilarating precision.

Rowan was a storm cloud, flickering with dangerous lightning but there was a window within that cloud which showed, a transparent being and luminous almost, a sunlit meadow of the Force.

Now Rowan, meeting Scimitar's direct gaze for the first time since he 'abandoned' him on Ruusan.

    Name: Grand Admiral Osai Seerdon
    Gender: Male
    Age: 47
    Homeplanet: Tatooine
    Race: Human
    Affiliation: Galactic Republic
    Personality:
Professionally, Seerdon is a very cautious and conservative man, having served as a freighter captain for several years and not used to commanding warships, although he has been known to take risks if the situation is dire enough. Although people might accuse him of being indecisive or weak-willed, he is very intelligent and capable of grasping most things fairly quickly. He feels he has much to prove since he comes out of a non-combat branch of the Republican Navy.

Off-duty, Seerdon tends to be more casual and friendly, enjoying a good drink or two and tries to form good relationships with his crew (again, from his days as a freighter captain when rank was much less formal).
Appearance: Standing at 6'5" and weighing in at 205 lbs., Seerdon is quite the imposing figure to look at. Despite his rough childhood and life spent at the helm, he still maintains his good-looks (having rugged handsomeness according to others) and is in average physical shape; however, he is still a fairly non-descript sort of guy in the appearance department.
    ---Skin Color: Caucasian
    ---Hair Color: Black
    ---Eye Color: Blue
---Clothing: Usually wears his standard-issue Republic Navy uniform, although he often wears the branch insignia of the Republic Maritime Service.

    Biography:
Born in the Tatooine settlement of Anchorhead, Osai Seerdon had a tough childhood. Although his family was loving and did the best to provide for their only son, they were also quite poor. Osai's father was professional hunter, while his mother served as a barmaid in a local tavern. When Osai was stil a young child, his father was ambushed and killed and killed by Tusken Raiders while out hunting. From then on, Osai, despite being a child, worked with his mother at the cantina.

At the age of 13, Osai left his homeplanet and signed on aboard a merchant freighter. It would actually be aboard this freighter, the Golden Thunder, that he would gain the rudiments of an education, mainly watching academic holovids, generally talking and asking questions and gaining tidbits here and there at their various stops. By the time he was 19, Osai had the equivalent of a high school education.

A couple years later, Osai's life would change for the better, albeit through tragic means. While making a routine delivery of droid parts to Coruscant, the Golden Thunder was ambushed by pirates and boarded. Out of pride, the GT's captain refused to surrender and a blaster fight ensued. The captain and first officer were killed, but Osai, having the most seniority (despite being only 21, he had served aboard for eight years, having nowhere else to go) rallied the rest of the crew and eliminated the on-board pirates. Realizing that the pirate's raiding ship could still destroy them, Osai and a number of the crew donned the pirate garb and actually snuck aboard the pirate ship and capture/killed the rest of the pirates (which wasn't really that many for the pirate ship was merely a modified light freighter). By unanimous vote, Osai was made captain of the GT.

Upon arriving at Coruscant with the parts and the captured freighter and pirates, Osai was offered a spot in the Republic Merchant Service Academy for his brave actions and capturing a pirate craft and immediately accepted; obviously, someone thought he might make a good freighter captain.

At the age of 24, Osai graduated in the top 2% of his class with a bachelor's degree in Starship Engineering and was given a commission in the Republic Maritime Service, a civilian auxillary to the Navy which handled primarily supply transport.

With the Sith Wars in full swing, there was great demand for RMS shipping, which was deemed very dangerous because of the non-combat role of the freighters. Within fifteen years, Osai had topped out as a High C

I could sense a change from within Cairo, I didn't even need to use the force to tell that something was happening behind the scenes. It felt like standing before a coiling snake that was getting ready to strike. I remained calm as it didn't really concern me as I've handled these types of 'animals' before.

I remember the times I've went trekking with Connie when we were young. Through forests and mountains trails, we would be gone for days. Alone in the wilderness, with no soul to interrupt us, relying on each other to get through. It was fun, we had a ball while pulling pranks on each other and playing games along our way. The times that were the most 'exhilarating' were when things happen that we didn't plan. Like some late night 'visitors' crashing our party: Some wild animal, a serpent most often, finds itself in the middle of our campsite.

I was usually the one to clear it out as I was good with animals... and the fact that she despises anything 'slithering' nor 'slimy'. The trick when handling these animals is not to startle them, that would provoke an attack. Move in slowly and carefully. Once you are within range, 'cap' the head fast so that those lethal fangs don't get you and make sure you have a tight grip on it. Don't do it too tight otherwise you hurt the creature. Once you have the animal secure and contained, take it to a safe place so that it can slither away. Walking back to camp was the hard part as I always go so far that by the time I get back to her, dinner would be cold.

Dinner, food, hunger. Why couldn't I be with Mara now and enjoy a nice meal? Because this is important to her and my bodily needs can wait until I have done what she asked me to. Oh a nice juicy steak wouldn't go astray now... Let him play his game, I won't have any part in it.

"What does it feel like to be so dependant on such 'power' that you call upon it like a crutch to hold you up?" I inquired, not caring if I get a response or not.
I smirked and walked to the side of the stairs and turned around to lean against the railing.
May as well make myself comfortable while I still can. I commented to myself.
"I didn't realise that after twenty nine years of believing each other was dead, that our reunion would be that taxing on you..." I paused and narrowed my eyes slightly at Cairo's gaze. "... Shame really. It is funny how time changes things. I bet we have lots to talk about and catch up on old times..." I pointed at the fountain that was located down the stairs. "...I know a place to sit down and chat... but something tells me that you are not in the mood."

Scimitar but smirked at the remark about power....if he only knew. Scimitar eyed him as he moved against the railing.

"I didn't realise that after twenty nine years of believing each other was dead, that our reunion would be that taxing on you..." He paused and narrowed his eyes slightly at Cairo's gaze. "... "If the current climate was different, my old friend, i would of taken you on that offer. But there are things you have no concept of Rowan, no one does but you will soon find out. There are certain truths that you are not ready for, not now but you will have to face soon." If there was a way out of this my old friend, i would take it but i have to hold out for a bit longer until the final pieces to my plan are put into place.

"I'm giving you the chance to walk away now, Rowan for old time's sake, this is....not your fight. Go some place out of the way. Retire. Meditate. That's what you like, isn't it? This war is not like any before, there are no good guys or bad guys, I wish it was like that but it isn't. If you managed to stay out of this war for this long then just go back into exile." Scimitar said as he tightened his grip on his double-bladed sword.

"Rowan what do you hope to achieve today? I don't depend on such power as you think. This is not a typical situation, you and me. This doesn't need to happen, so heed my words, leave now." Scimitar said through clenched teeth.

Take my warning, Rowan. Please. Cairo wanted to tell him why but he can't then HE will know as soon as he opened his mouth. Cairo can't allow that to happen, not now, not until he goes to Corellia.....IF he gets to Corellia! This is not what he wanted but if Rowan doesn't take the offer to walk away then it will be up to the will of the Force to decide on what happens today.....there was another way out of this but Scimitar would never take that route, it will be a last resort if it came to that, he surely hopes it won't. Dammit! The treachery of the Sith, he came to learn in his early Sithhood.

Scimitar breathed and calmed himself and centered himself and then gave Rowan his gaze and his grip tightened even more now then moments ago.

"What is it going to be, old friend?"

I listened to what Cairo just said and just nodded. I realised that in his mind, things are not so simple and it is. I see he is talking down to me like a child that can't make up it's own mind. We don't know each other anymore. Telling me what I do and don't like is not the way to go. He is threatened by my presence and I intend no harm. Why doesn't he realise that? Maybe he does and being difficult because he is trying avoid something.

"What I like?" I laughed out loud and shook my head. "So you are telling me to run away? To drop everything and go? I can't do that anymore. I can't do that when there are others that need me." I stopped for a moment as the day's events flashed in my mind and then continued more gravely. "I can't walk away from this. Not now. Not after all I have been through."

"It is only a situation if you make one." I said to him as I noticed how he tightened his grip on his sword. "I am not here to cause trouble. I am here to help a friend." I outstretched my hands as a sign of non hostility.

"To be honest, too much information is poison. A curse. Yes, I don't claim to be one of those 'All known and powerful prophets' but I know that there are forces at work that both you and I cannot comprehend. Let me ask you something Do you even know what is going on? Do you really know? Think about it and don't answer in regards to galaxy events. I am talking about here and now, about you. Just you, ignore me. No? You don't know what I am talking about? I'll tell you: You are wounded and you don't even realise it." I moved away from the railing and stood a few steps below Cairo.

"What I hope to achieve is to have a nice dinner, maybe go for a walk afterwards, visit a few friends. Take time out from the chaos and appreciate peace and quiet. Just doing that may not affect the outcome of the war. It would though make things more bearable. What I am trying to say is that you have more choices than you realise. You always have and always will but you can't see past the immediate. I am asking you to stop this charade and just take time out, even if it is just for a few minutes. You are wound up like a spring near breaking point, it isn't good for your health."

"That sounds familiar. Didn't you say the same thing on the eve of the Battle of Ruusan? At least you haven't lost your Corellian sense of humour." Scimitar began to move on the top of the stairs.

His medallion began to shimmer, its emerald green, Agrive Dur is waiting and getting impatient. And he should be, this needs to be dealt with now.

"You say I'm wounded, Rowan and yet you went into exile, so did Mara and so did Masamune after Ruusan. Where was the 'old gang' then when I needed you all most? There was none. You all turned your back and dealt with your wounds over the years. Where was I? I was still going, I didn't have that luxury like all of you did! What do you know of wounds, Rowan. Your wounds may have healed or have closure thats the difference between me and you, I haven't stopped since Ruusan, my war is a result of that among other things that transpired after Ruusan. I had to endure alot, I have been through the Mandalorian Wars, The Sith Uprising and The Deep Core Wars, no time for licking up old wounds, old friend!" Scimitar hissed at Rowan.

"Even after all these years, I still envy you, Rowan." Scimitar admitted noted Rowan's expression. "You know why is that? It's because you were the quiet one, the silent one but you were there but you weren't the "poster boy" that was me and mostly because of Kaan when I was his apprentice during the Mando Wars and came attached was everyone knowing you and being thrusted into something I didn't expect to have. Kaan embraced that side of being a Jedi but I didn't and even when I became Master and lead the Order and the Republic forces against Kaan and his army, I still couldn't handle the pressure to perform, campaign after campaign but I endured. You were the one I envied the most because you never draw attention to yourself only when necessary and then you go back. Even now you have managed the samething." Scimitar was on the opposite end of the stairwell, staring down at the Corellian.

"This ends here and now, Rowan. The time of redemption expired when you all left me on my own and now you will all pay for turning your back on me!" Scimitar allowed the power of the Darkside fill him and breathed and in a second, he lunged over the steps directly at Rowan with his double-bladed sword aimed directly at his heart.

"Ohhh aren't 'we' full of 'ourselves' today." I replied sarcastically back up at Cairo. "Always about you isn't it?"
The hairs on the nape of my neck pricked up as I felt a sudden coldness drawn to the vicinity. It was the only warning I got before something inside Cairo snapped and decided to lunge at me. His sword drawn.

I pivoted on my right foot and leaned back to avoid his body as his blade pierced nothing but the air of where I once stood. I brought my right hand up fast and lightly tapped him on the back while his body was in motion. The gesture was done to make him over balanced and send him further down the stairs.

I turned around and looked down at him, disappointed by his lack of self control.
"That was uncalled for. Whose back is facing me now? " I shock my finger at him. "Get your facts right before you start accusations. You believed I was dead all this time and now you telling me what I 'did' after the campaign like you have followed my footsteps the whole time. When will you realise that it is all in your head? You don't even know what I've been through."

En-route to Kashyyyk - Currently pit-stopped above the Capital.

Vanda had received word from the Chancellor that they have a new Grand Admiral after much deliberation and they requested the Grandmaster's visit to meet with the new Grand Admiral of the Republic.

The Grandmaster was greeted with an escort of Republic fighters as they directed him towards the Capital ship that is orbiting the planet but the Grandmaster's mind was elsewhere, as he sensed a ripple in the Force.

The Master's Trail landed within the docking bay of the Republic vessel and there was a contingent of Republic troops, pilots, engineers all lined up on either side and the Grandmaster saw the figure in the attire of the Grand Admiral rank and the cockpit hatch popped open as the dimunitive figure jumped out with walking stick in hand and traversed the sleek surface of the ship.

Vanda made a gruff noise as he walked towards the oncoming figure of the Grand Admiral.

Vanda paused and looked into the blue eyes of the newly appointed Grand Admiral and stood to his full height and tapped the floor with his walking stick.

"Experience comes with practicality, Admiral. This is the will of the Chancellor himself, then I approve of his decision as well." Vanda smiled and then his expression turned to a more serious one.

"The essence of our time is needed on Kashyyyk, Admiral. Much planning will we need for the coming battle. Let us make haste to Kashyyyk and see the Council War meeting. Have you named this ship of your command, Admiral Seerdon?" As Vanda addressed him and winked with a smile.

Scimitar landed towards the bottom of the stairs and the positions were reversed and had his back facing to Rowan who stood above and away from him and Scimitar turned his head over his shoulder with the side of his face half-facing Rowan but not showing his expression.

"Get your facts right before you start accusations. You believed I was dead all this time and now you telling me what I 'did' after the campaign like you have followed my footsteps the whole time. When will you realise that it is all in your head? You don't even know what I've been through."

"Well I guess, we all lost a part of ourselves on Ruusan that day. One doesn't need to know what one has been through, old friend, its what you do that defines you." Scimitar said calmly. "You cannot hope to change me, today, Rowan. No one can. You and I have had our journey's that has led us to this point, but deep down, your still as pure as when I first met you. Too much blood has been spilled on my hands, and the difference is I have no regrets, I hold no regrets. I am the Dark Lord of the Sith! One does not attain it so easily, my friend." Scimitar's voice went into a low, cold octave.

Scimitar turned around and faced him once more.

"What was the expression you and Kal had used.....ah yes. Adapt and Overcome. Well I have adapted to the current climate and overcomed the challenges in my life after the war. Rowan there is no Cairo Blade, only Scimitar......" Scimitar hissed as he brought his double-bladed over head and one by one, step after step until he was halfway up the stairs.

"Tell me, friend, how did you survive? I want to know what compelled you to survive and survive long indeed." As Scimitar eyed him once more. He has been well trained and he could tell from his physique, his posture. This is will be a day long remembered indeed.

    Grand Admiral Osai Seerdon
Hammerhead-class Cruiser Freedom Fighter, In Coruscant Orbit

It was a sign of the Republic's vastly dwindling resources that the largest ships defending its capital, Coruscant, were mere frigates. Most of the larger ships were either on the front, were destroyed or were undergoing repairs or retrofitting. Grand Admiral Osai Seerdon, looking almost regal in his pure white uniform with its massive golden epaulets and three medals (his Chancellor's Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and a Meritorious Service Award). Instead of Republic Navy insignia, he bore Republic Maritime Service insignia. Despite what the Chancellor and Senate might say, he was not a warrior, nor had he ever even commanded a military ship, although they had seen some combat. Even Seerdon knew he was the wrong man for this job, but it appeared there were few other suitable options.

The impending arrival of the Jedi Grandmaster on the Freedom Fighter had caused the Grand Admiral to prepare as best he could. Every available crewmember was in the hangar, standing at near perfect attention and forming lines on either side of an approach so that the Grandmaster would be able to land and walk directly to the waiting Seerdon.

Slightly nervous, Seerdon watched as the Jedi's small ship landed within the docking bay and the diminutive Grandmaster hopped out. Under other circumstances, it might have looked comical. Right now, it was all too serious to make light of. The war was not going well and everyone knew it.

As the Grandmaster approached, Seerdon prostrated himself on the floor, face barely touching the ground, in the utmost sign of respect and honor while every other crewmember went to present-arms. As Vanda neared, Seerdon rose to one knee, "It is an honor to welcome you aboard, Grandmaster Vanda."

"Experience comes with practicality, Admiral. This is the will of the Chancellor himself, then I approve of his decision as well."

"Thank you, Your Excellency," the Grand Admiral replied truthfully. Although Vanda could be difficult to fully comprehend with his reversed speech patterns, what he said sounded like a compliment of some kind.

"The essence of our time is needed on Kashyyyk, Admiral. Much planning will we need for the coming battle. Let us make haste to Kashyyyk and see the Council War meeting. Have you named this ship of your command, Admiral Seerdon?"

Still remaining on a knee, he nodded positively, "This ship is named the Freedom Fighter, Your Excellency, and we are prepared to make hyperspace as soon as necessary," he answered.

    Kashyyyk - Rwookrrorro

Masamune and Olivia were well into discussion about Corellia's occupation and the alarms were ringing but they were too busy into their talks to notice until Commander Rinth of Masamune's Commando team came into view behind Commander Nual and saluted, Masamune nodded and stood to his height.

"What is it, Commander Rinth?" Masamune asked.

"Sir! We have an anomaly that has entered Kashyyyk space and we are trying to determine if it's a friendly or a threat and when we couldn't decide, the officers say you would have such experience with this situation." The Commander said.

"Anomaly you say?" Masamune queried as he moved around Olivia and went to the console and brought up a holographic map of Kashyyyk space and

then maximized the size until a lizard like form filled the display.

"We have our weapons in place to fire at your command, Guardian." Commander Rinth added.

Masamune smiled and saw or actually knew who that was. Olivia saw his smiled with a confused expression.

"You know this person, don't you, Mas?" She asked.

"Tell your men to stand down arms, we have our second commander now. She is a friendly Commander let her be." Masamune shut off the console and made his way out to the beach.

"Yes, sir! Right away." Commander Rinth brought his comlink and gave the order of command and followed after The Guardian of Light and

    Commander Nual followed suit.

Neltharion soared over the landscape, cutting away miles with each heavy beat of its vast wings. The Naga Dragon lived for flying, and Jasmine felt his excitement as he raced over the hills, rivers and forest.

As he descended, Jasmine could make out in the distance, ships landing and lifting off and many tiny figures starting to enlarge as they approached and then she felt a ripple in the Force like a ripple in the ocean below them as they neared their destination.

Jasmine looked behind her and noticed her passenger was still unconscious, which was a good thing Jasmine thought. As traveling through space ain't like dusting crops, she smiled at her own personal joke.

Neltharion made a noise that Jasmine recognized.

"Yes, its Mas. I know you missed him a lot, Nelthy." She patted his neck as Neltharion ascended slightly and then landed on the beach next to where a smiling Masamune stood.

Masamune gazed up at the Dragon and walked up and touched its cheek as Neltharion lowered his head as Jasmine hopped off.

"Uncle Mas! I've missed you so much!" She ran and hugged him tightly.

"Hey kid. Don't you look beautiful Princess." As he hugged her in return.

"Uncle, huh? That's something I thought i would ever hear." Olivia said from behind the two.

Jasmine looked over her uncle's shoulder.

"Jasmine this is, Commander Nual." As he broke the hug and introduced Olivia.

"Nual? You mean Olivia Nual? Isn't she the one...."Jasmine was about to complete and then remembered. "Pleasure to meet you Commander Nual, I'm Jasmine Blade." She smiled.

Olivia was taken aback by what she just said. Blade! You mean this is the daughter of Cairo Blade!? Impossible. She heard of her sacrifice on Abredo-Grae but how did she survive?

"Long story, Commander. We can catch up later if you would like." Jasmine added. "We uncle, Nelthy is gettign irriated with Kaan on his back, would you care to take him into custody." She indicated to Mas.

"Commander Rinth, would you care to take him down and bring up to interrogation so we can have a few words with Mr.Kaan." Masamune said calmly.

"No problems, sir! Bring him down men and do becareful, we don't want to upset the dragon." The team moved with caution and started to bring down the unconscious body of Kaan down and took him away.

Kal dumped Marcus onto a cot inside the Icaus while Ariek stood at the doorway.
"He'll be awake in a few hours." Kal said to her.
A groan came from the man as he opened his eyes. Kal tightened his hand into a fist and belted Marcus in the head hard. The result knocked Marcus back into unconsciousness while Kal's hand throbbed.
"See, like I said. A few hours." He smirked. "That felt good. Now lets get some ice and take some time out."
"You know Kal, there are other ways to keep someone out without hitting them and breaking your hand." Ariek told him and moved aside to let him pass.
"The ice is for a drink, not for my hand."
"Oh sure it is." Ariek rolled her eyes and made her way to the bridge.

When Kal arrived at the bridge, with two glasses in his hands, he found Ariek sitting cross-legged on the command chair fiddling with the computer.
"Here sweetheart." Kal said as he passed her an icy drink. She took the glass and sculled the amber liquid.
"Thanks Kal." She thanked him and returned to her work. Kal shook his head and stood behind her to watch what she was up to. All he could see was jumbled letters and numbers making up strings of code commands and couldn't make heads or tails out of it.
"What are you up to?" He asked.
"Testing a theory." She answer and placed her glass on the console. "Rowan was right about that wireless idea. I've located the Raptor's Fury."
"What?" Kal sounded surprised and pointed at the screen. "How with all that?"
"That was the easy part. I've managed to hack into its computer and bypass the firewalls he installed." She said gleefully and picked up her glass to suck out an ice cube into her mouth.
"Since when were you able to do that?" Kal teased. "You never shown such interest in these things in the past."
"Hmmm." Ariek then spat the ice cube back into her glass. "I got bored and had plenty of practice over the years."

Kal just stood there, not knowing what else to say. He took a sip of his drink and tried to make sense of the coding. He gave up and leaned onto the back of the chair and rested his chin on the crown of her head.
"What are you doing now?" He asked again.
"Downloading the missing entries. What we are seeing is the encrypted pages. Oh, by the way. I've found an early entry and unencrypted it." She explained.
"Remind me again of your fascination with that man?"
"Sounds like someone is 'jealous'." She teased.
"Not jealousy. More like protection for him." Kal answered.
"Protect him from what? He is a resourceful warrior."
"I'm protecting him from you." Kal teased then kissed the top of her head. "Which is why I have to pull the plug on you 'stealing' his journal and reading it behind his back."
She tilted her up and pouted. "Pretty please one more?" she mockingly sulked.
Kal stared back at the face he fell in love with all those years ago. The fire still burns strongly now as it did then."Alright" he gave in. "How can I refuse a face like that."

Words appeared onscreen that was recognisable. Kal noticed that it was dated almost three decades ago. Ruusan. Three weeks before the Republic arrived.

... Sarah played the message to me. It sounds like someone was feeding the Republic false information about the situation on Ruusan. I hope it is not who I think it is. Some Jedi Knight interrupted us as he almost landed his ship in the middle of the camp. How arrogant the Jedi are. I am glad the Corellian Order are not like that. I bet he didn't even realise how close he came to being shot down by the villagers. That didn't help as he seems a little unorthodox, a trouble maker and rule breaker in my books. He makes me nervous. I'll have to keep an eye on him... especially around Sarah. I can't get her out of my mind. I've never felt this way about someone before. She is smart, sweet, sassy, funny and beautiful. I can't believe that she wanted to find me. Yes I know that there is a war going on and she needs my help, but I can't help but wonder.

    "That Jedi so

Still remaining on a knee, he nodded positively, "This ship is named the Freedom Fighter, Your Excellency, and we are prepared to make hyperspace as soon as necessary," he answered.

Vanda nodded with both hands on top of his walking stick and tapped the floor.

"You lead, follow I will, Admiral." Vanda said soothingly.

Vanda looked at the soldiers around him and was pleased that progress has come a long way in his absence.

"Good men you have, Grand Admiral Seerdon. Can tell they have experience and served for many years. What do you know of the situation on Corellia, Admiral, as I have been in long absence away from the Galaxy for too long on an important mission." Vanda said distantly like a memory.

Either way, Vanda is sure of one thing: this battle will be one of the fiercest he'll ever face.

"No." I remarked. "You see. I don't believe you have adapted, only devolved."
I stood my ground as Cairo continued up the stairs towards me. His double-bladed weapon poised above his head, ready to strike at any given moment.
If he thinks he can intimidate me, then he is in for a rude awakening. I remarked to myself. Oh how the 'Great' has fell. He must stop before he destroys what little dignity he has left. How humiliating to have fallen so far.

"If you really have adapted, you would still contain your essence. I mean, look at what you have become. Bloodshot eyes, bad teeth and the temper of a spoilt brat. Grow up for crying out loud and get a hold of yourself." I pointed out while keeping an eye on his every movement. "Why do you want to know how I survived when you don't give a stuff anyway? Oh and which day on Ruusan were you referring to by the way? Like it matters."

"Dark Lord of the Sith indeed." I scoffed. "Can't you hear yourself? Do yourself a favour: Put away your weapon and sit down before you hurt yourself. There is no need for this."

"Ruusan matters to me most, Rowan. It was a massive shift in the Force, when Ruusan broke out even you felt it like everyone else did. Ruusan defined us," he pause and looked into the direction Mara took and indicated with his head,"Mara, you, Kal and the ones that were with us in that meeting." Scimitar remained in his position save for the double-edged sword was no at his side.

"Ruusan was just the beginning for things to come. It was a trial for us all, there's no doubt about that. My war was a test to the galaxy and it has failed, so through this I had to reinforce the planets and its infrastructures to better prepare themselves for what has been unleashed deep within the Core." Scimitar with a distant determination.

"It has never been about me, or you or the Jedi nor the Sith, it was my choice to embrace the Sith way since the Jedi wouldn't care less about my warnings after Ruusan. Rowan you have no idea what is going to happen tomorrow, do you?" The Dark Lord raised his blade questioningly towards the Corellian.

"Everything you hold dear will be gone, from Fondor they will spread all the way to the Capital," Scimitar looked around him. "Hapes will stand longer compared to the other planets, the Hapans old ancient secrets to protect them long enough but eventually they will break. And even you, Rowan. Corellia to everyones eyes is taken over by the Sith but in fact we are protecting it." Scimitar said.

"I wonder what Tomaas, would say now, hmm. Rowan grow up and open your eyes, this is not between me and you or our choices but the time we have left to survive! If you intend to block me of my goal, then you will die right here, right now, old friend. I have embraced my destiny, but my question to you is, have you?" Scimitar could feel within himself his alien counter-part, slowly eating away the darkness but was held at bay from his Sith crafted medallion.

"Ooh, aah. Am I suppose to bow down to your 'greatness' and let you walk out of here ?" I retorted. "I don't think so! Wonder all you want about Laecain's outlook on things, his troubles are over."

"Tsk-tsk. You are trying to justify your actions but you keep falling short. Your narrow mind has prevented you from taking the best course of action." I moved across so that I stood directly above him. I could feel the night breeze tug at the lowered hood of my green cloak.

"You see, that is where you have failed. You could of been great, magnificent! The one who united the galaxy together for a common purpose, but no, you sunk lower than thought posible. You chose a path that makes things worse than before. You talk of preparing worlds and making preparations for impending conflict with a threat from the core to justify your choice but your actions speak otherwise. Don't complain to me of the Jedi not listening as I could of told you that almost thirty years ago. Since when did I care for what the Jedi thought of me? You of all people should know how they perceive the Corellian Order. The ridicule I faced and been through because my ways are different from theirs. I don't care what they think, why should it get to you when they don't dance to your tune?"

"Another thing: Corellia? Protected by the Sith?" I laughed in his face. "Get out of town. You believe your war shall strengthen worlds against a new threat. Tell me, how does it achieve that when your current war against the Republic is weakening both factions. If I was in your position I would of spent it uniting all and pooling together resources that would enable a bulwark against this threat you speak of. I suppose it is your fault in the first place for opening the 'can of worms' that brings this threat out of the core?"

I paused and glared at him and stepped forward until there was only a step's gap between us. I looked into his cold, dark eyes and I 'saw' what the blood he has spilt has done to him. 'They' will have their justice one way or another. Eventually.

"For the record: I am appalled by the way you have treated Mara. How dare you do that to her! Threaten me with death all you want. I have died before and even that did not stop me. What makes you think you'll have a chance? Take my advice, stand down before you hurt yourself. My place is between you and this war of yours. I am here to put a stop to this needless violence."

    Hapes - Heavenly Lookout

This is the moment that defines Darth Scimitar.

Not his countless victories in battle, nor the numberless battles his diplomacy has avoided. Not his penetrating intellect, or his talents with the Force, or his unmatched skills with the lightsaber. Not his dedication to the Jedi and Sith Order, or his devotion to the Republic that he once served.

    But this.

    Right here.

    Right now.

Because Scimitar, too, has an attachment. Scimitar has a secret love.

    Darth Scimitar loves the Republic.

Many of his students when he was a Jedi Master quote him to students of their own:

Jedi do not fight for peace. That's only a slogan, and is as misleading as slogans always are. Jedi fight for civilization, because only civilization creates peace."

For Cairo Blade, for all his life, for all the lives of a thousand years of Jedi before him, true civilization has had only one true name: the Republic.

He has given his life in the service of his love. He has taken lives in its service, and lost the lives of innocents. He has seen beings that he cares for maimed, and killed, and sometimes worse: sometimes so broken by the horror of the struggle that their only answer was to commit horrors greater still.

And because of that love now, here, in this instant, Rowan has ten words for him that shred his heart, burn its pieces, and feed him its smoking ashes.

My place is between you and this war of yours.

He doesn't even hear the words, not really; their true meaning is too large for his mind gather in all at once.

They mean that all he's done, and all that has been done to him---

All the Galaxy itself has gone through, all the years of suffering and slaughter, the death of entire planets---

    Has been all for nothing.

Because it was all done to save the Republic.

    Which is about to collapse.

The corpse of which had been defended only by a skeleton Order that was now crippled because of himself.

During his training under Agrive Dur, Cairo had put all his darkness into the crafting of his medallion, from the very core, his loss of Kaan on Vjun in the Mando Wars, then facing him on Ruusan and was defeated by him, the losses were too great during that war, and his loss of Mara after the war finding out she was pregnant and then being seduced by the Sith spirit in his moment of weakness.

But it was too late in turning back, to go through all those hardships and then fall short of his goal? Or was that goal not what it seems, the Corellian was somehow right.

To forget one's purpose is the commonest form of stupidity. That was what Master Serenity use to say to him when he was a Padawan learner, look at me now, she would have had a field day with Cairo. I miss her. You were right afterall Serenity, after all these years, you were right in the end.

He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.

Scimitar's vision was blurry as he came to and the fog in the Force that was supposedly lifted with the arrival of the Cha'ala they were part of the shroud but never the source of it. Scimitar finally coming to the terrible truth that it was Scimitar himself had created the shroud, he simply made a mistake?

Then he faltered backwards. He could feel the dragon recoil at his realization. Scimitar looked up into Rowan's face and all the years took a hold of his heart, he could feel his eyes were raw, and red his face swollen. For a longtime he didn't know if he could answer back to him. The Sithlord was in a longtime, struggling with something inside himself, as though he fought desperately against the waking of a monster hatching within his chest.

He looked up again to the Corellian and in this moment, something happened he didn't intend to, in one defining moment, everything seemed to wash away, Scimitar's face and his eyes, wer

I started to realise my importance in the greater scheme of things. As I witness how my words affected the man before me, I could feel something 'static' in the air. I spared a glaced at the horizon and notice ominous clouds approaching, accompanied by brief flashes of lightning. A storm is coming.

Bringing my attention back to the man standing below, I finally recognised the face before me for a brief moment. Cairo uttered two words before being claimed by the darkness: "Help me."
So you are somewhere in there old friend. I felt a tinge of sadness as his face contorted back into his dark persona. I shall do what I can to exercise the demons from within you.
An evil, sadistic grin spread across his face and remarked: "You will die, Corellian."
His medallion flared up and drove his blade at me.

I knew I couldn't move out of the way of his sword as he thrust it towards my abdomen. I quickly brought swung my left hand against the side of the incoming blade, knocking it off course as it slipped harmlessly past my hip. A chunk of leather flew off from the tip of the blade piercing the back end of my brown, leather gauntlet.

Taking the opportunity of surprise, I placed a foot on his knee and put my weight down to give me enough lift and momentum to vault over him. I landed a few steps below him and turned to face him, my dark green cloak whipped around me.

"You are too slow, Old Man." I taunted before turning to a more serious tone. "You have committed an unprovoked attack upon me. Stop now or I will be force to engage combat with you. This is your last chance."

Scimitar flicked his blade up to a aggressive stance. I shook my head.
"So, it starts." I said sadly then smirked at him. "Prepare to be humiliated, 'Blade'."

Co-GM OOC: As it happens, I have been instructed by M-O-E, aka the true GM, to take over this game for the time being. That time is most likely until January or February. Since the amount of players frequenting this game had dwindled recently, I am going to ask other experienced RPers to join this game, to revive it. You may of course ask anyone you know to make a character sheet.

You may submit these sheets to myself or any other GMs that are around. Sorry for typing so much, my speech is over.

    Hello everyone.

Due to the GM being absent, I am unable to continue my character's journey until he returns from his trip. Well, I suppose I can but a one sided duel is... not that fun and biased.

On a side note I'll be going away for a while so don't expect anything from me soon.

I want to wish everyone here a happy and safe holidays!

Scimitar didn't need to reply to his comment, he went in and leapt over some of the steps down to Rowan and he threw his swords at him as he pushed his momentum towards Rowan at the same time and then he crouched on the final step and looked up at his opponent and smiled. He went to side-swipe his legs while being distracted with his flying weapons at Rowan.

And at the same time the Palace was rocked by an explosion of some sort in the nights sky above the Lookout and Scimitar rolled to the side and out of the way just in time to avoid being completely impaled and stood up and looking about for the source of the explosion and saw it was a Hapan fighter that hit the Lookout.

Scimitar stood at the ready, looking slightly upwards towards where Rowan was. And went into the Teräs Käsi stance, arms spread our away from his body and spread his legs slightly and waited for his enemy.

"Did you miss me." He called out with the evening wind blowing from the east, his hair brushing his face lightly.

Question, with Stargate reference, this is going to be like The Ark of Truth that deals with the immediate end of the Ori storyarc or renewing with a new season with an new upcoming arc? Like the Season 9 - 10 of SG-1 before it was not renewed for an 11th season?

Shortly afterwards, Jasmine had brought Kaan into custody and left him alone as Masamune walked in, his face very stoic and looked at him behind the force field. He stood there motionless, just observing the man that a lifetime ago was his best friend, his partner only now a wanted criminal, a former-Jedi as well as Sithlord, all wasted away he surmised.

"Hello, my friend," Masamune said to him.

Kaan heard the voice, he knew the voice and he slightly lifted his gaze from the floor before him to the man standing in front of him and was expressionless.

"How time flies, Masamune. It seems you were right after all." He tried to move but all he got in return was pain.

Masamune just stood there and listened.

"I assume at me being captive, you want to how they say it, "to cut a deal". What say you, my old friend?" He tried again to move into a comfortable position but he couldn't.

"I want to know what is in Corellia. I want to know wat you know of the situation, Lotus and you will give it to me without any 'deals', old friend as you put it." Masamune replied.

"hehehehe--" Lotus coughed a pained cough."So the cat is out of the bag, huh, Mas. Well if you want to know, then you will know. I have a better chance of survival here rather than in Corellia. Some alien force has been gathering, along with Cairo's Sith armada, its unknown exactly the size of the force but it is very sizable." Kaan said.

"Alien you say? Well thats a start but for now you will remain here until i return and find out exactly what you exactly know of the detail in the Corellian system." Masamune said as he turned around heading out and Kaan called out.

"You have no hope for succeeding, Mas." Kaan said.

Masamune stood with his back to his old friend, facing outwards to the shoreline Rwookrrorro's beach.

"There's always hope, Lotus..." He said solemny.

    Always hope.
