I will put an "other" in there - Timothy Zahn - it was his work that brought me into the books of Star Wars and got me to read for enjoyment.

Yeah I forgot about Zahn I read his first book about the new triology I forgot the title. It was good for a Star Wars book but I don't really care for Star Wars books it is just my opinion. I can see why others like them.

How in the world is Timothy Zahn not on this list for the poll?

He is my favorite for sure.

In my dreams here, I have seen the destruction of the Jedi. The death of the Republic. I have seen the Temple in ruins, the Senate smashed, and Coruscant itself shattered by orbital bombardment from immense ships of impossible design. I have seen Coruscant, the seat of galactic culture, become a jungle far more hostile and alien than any on Haruun Kal.
I have seen the end of civilization.

Everything I have read by Zahn (which has only been SW books) has been awesome.

Just remember - He introduced us to characters like Grand Admiral Thrawn, Mara Jade (Skywalker), and even the Solo Kids - so the man has a great talent in my opinion

Yeah but everything he created is based on the mind of George Lucas he never came up with anything original.

How can you make a statement like that?

Zahn came up with the name for Coruscant.

He created the characters...not GL. GL and LucasArts ok'd everything.

And Zahn's other books are basically must reads.

    The Conqueror's Trilogy
    The Icarus Hunt
    Angelmass

Waiting to find his other books.

I have to agree with Zahn.

Asimov is the only person with a book written in every section of the Demey Decimal Sysytem.

You left Robert Heinlein off that list. No joke, if you like sci-fi, read StarShip Troopers. No, it's nothing like the movie, it's waaaaaaaayyyyyyyy better.
