Jimmy Page, a difficult choice though.

Very tough choice. I voted for Clapton, though he's about even with Page for me.

Beck is in a totally different realm than the other two.

    Jimmy Page, of course.

    Clapton?
    Definitely not better than Page.

Shredder, have you seen Clapton play live? I have. Twice. Amazing. Maybe I'm looking at him more overall that just guitar-playing.

I've seen Plant live, but was not able to catch a Page/Plant show. :(

I might see Clapton in October. Should be a great show, but he's still second to Beck :)

Same with me, though I consider Clapton to be a tad cleaner than Page.....that and I just listened to his solo on Have You Ever Loved a Woman from Live at the Fillmore when he was with Derek and the Dominos.......every time I hear it my jaw literally drops. No lie.

I also may be seeing Clapton in October, if my school's schedule will permit it.

They're all good, but Page wrote the best riffs and was overall the best songwriter.

That said, the Layla album stands up to anything Zeppelin ever released.

You must listen to his earlier stuff (Bluesbreakers, Cream, Blind Faith, Derek and the Dominos); I get the feeling you see him as the guy who wrote "Tears in Heaven." He's pretty much been consistently awesome live (though he demonstrates some of his greatest skill on stage with Cream and the Dominos).

Well, at least one riff ("Black Dog") was created by John Paul Jones; there's actually a recording of him teaching it to Page. And if "songwriting" refers to lyrics, I'd argue that Zeppelin's best songs were written by Plant ("Stairway to Heaven," "Kashmir").

Wrong. :p I'm definitely a bigger fan of Layla and his work with Cream (Strange Brew, Sunshine of Your Love, Crossroads, etc.) and I do know what a good soloist he is. Like his 20-minute solo in Crossroads. :p I guess the reason I said that was because I pesonally like Page's playing style more than Clapton's more bluesy stle.

Page. Though both Beck and Clapton are really good, but Page play more in my style. Clapton is more bluesy, while Page is Harder Rock.

In reality they are all really great guitarist.:)
